Wonderful Fly. Absolutely a staple on this side of the pond. A fisher would be remiss to not have a few in his box. Great place to start for new Fly Tyers. So many variations!! Thanks for adding a variation to a classic 👍

Fantastic looking hares ear fly. Never seen one with a colored tag. Love the blue tinsel wing case. I think the fly studyiers (The trout!) will like it too! Looks like a fish catcher to me! Thanks for sharing! Cheers!

Every time you change any detail to a pattern you must either put it in a tank or at least into a glass of water tied onto a short length of tippet. To test how the materials look and react while static or moving in the water. Dry flies in a box catch anglers. It is how it looks and reacts on or in the water is the only proof of is it going to work.

Lovely looking fly. Here’s a question for you Lindsay. Like you asked us yesterday regarding the cost of fishing…. If you had to choose between using your disposable income to fish, or to buy fly tying material to tie flies, what would win? I don’t imagine tying flys as a hobby is cheap? So if you had to choose one, would you fish or tie ?

Got to be fishing! Luckily over the years I have accumulated enough tying materials for another 50 years. 🤣
