I really like your version of this versatile fly Mr.Clark. Following along with you and tying this particular fly ( for whatever reason ) is almost like having a private class on tying Trout Flys that actually CATCH FISH ! Imagine that huh ? Thought I should tell you The Wife and I got super luck and were able to purchase a River Boat that can very comfortably sit 3-4 adults . An older Gentleman that my Father Fished with in Wyoming several times each year and they also made 1 pilgrimage each year to the Famous Snake River in Idaho to drift fish the Snake. Anyway sadly he came down with Cancer a year and a half ago and he put up a great fight for a guy in his late 80's but he lost his battle about 2 months ago. We were very lucky to purchase his Boat,trailer and all his fishing equipment from his estate in one lump purchase. The Boat is all set up just perfect so we couldn't be luckier at this point. Now Mr. Clark if we can ever pry you loose from Great Britain and get you across the pond to America.....there is NO Water in the West we can't fish....hint hint....? Your Friends, Randy & Tracie Hill

Hi Randy, once again a very kind offer. It was nice that you got to buy his boat and tackle and will put it to good use. Have a great fishing summer with it...

Great video, well made and well described. My question is if you don't have a blade like yours to cut off the deer fibers, is it just a case of using curved scissors very carefully?And does it matter about the curve?

Love the look of this fly Barry! I’ve tried using sheer 14/0 but my bobbin holder shreds it before I can get a bed on the hook shank? Which bobbin holders do you use and recommend?
@Thefeatherbender3 жыл бұрын
Hi Rich, Sounds very much like you need a new bobbin holder! I use the Marc Petitjean TT bobbin, but they are expensive and not every tyer gets along with them. What I suggest is that you go as high as you can on your budget and buy a bobbin holder with a ceramic nozzle. I like the Tiemco bobbin holders, they are excellent and are reasonably priced. www.flytyingcompany.co.uk/tiemco-heavy-duty-ceramic-bobbin.html Good luck.
