Love that ribbing style on small flies like this. Got to try that. Anytime I see reference to a midge pattern smaller than a #22 I have visions of the San Juan in winter - and those visions quickly become full blown "fantasies." Nice tie.

Big Thompson rainbows approved of this pattern today. Many of them. Thanks man!

Oh my gosh, I just yesterday called FFF and talked to Lance. I mentioned I had seen the MilSpec videos and tried the sharpie on the thread on a midge I was tying. Then today I see this video. Crazy, he probably thinks I was trying to steal credit, I was just confessing to technique theft ;-)

Fly Fish Food Since I saw that MilSpec video I’ve gone crazy with the sharpie. Love that technique. I’ve been doing stuff with a sharpie for a long time. Never occurred to me to make a rib with it. Amazing how you can make that look like a quill. See you guys next week. I’ll be in to make a’deposit’ 😉😃

Have you ever tried EP trigger point instead of CDC for the wing. I like that EP doesn't take in fish slime as much as CDC. M/C🔔🎁🎄HNY🎆🎇🎉

Great fly. Ribbing looked like a quill body. Excellent way to rib. I also fish still water and when fish are sipping emerges : 1) would this fly Wk. 2) would you change anything for still water ? Down eye hook? Thxs for the fish food. I am interested in a green river float. Can I get information? 🍻happy holidays

Hi Irve. No reason this shouldn’t work great on stillwaters as well. For the green river, we don’t guide there, but if you reach out to Spinner Fall they will get you taken care of. Tell them that we sent you.

I can hardly watch you use those fiskars. It’s childish and I don’t know why, but I hate it! 😂

PEI FLYCO embrace the fiskars. I have huge hands and they hang up perfectly on my ring finger knuckle. They are the only scissors I can tie with “in hand”

Because you would rather spend more for Dr. Slick ? I have been using Fiskars for years , they work great . But you are right they look funny :-)

@@mikekuczynski1552 I think I paid 11 bucks for my last pair of dr slicks. Although, I havent used anything but micro tip razor scissors for about 10 years. Expensive but the rule!
