The Weasel is a great fly pattern for redfish, especially in the fall when the water is starting to cool off and the fish slow down a little bit.
The legs and fox tail on this pattern provide lots of action, without the need for a lot of movement. Little bumps in the line will make those legs bounce and look very appetizing for a redfish. It doesn't particularly imitate a shrimp or crab, but could easily look like both. This color has a very blue crab look to it. It's a very simple fly to tie and can be tied with bead chain or lead eyes for deeper water. The bead chain is just enough weight to make the fly ride hook up, but still hits the water soft.
