Fly Tying with Corey: Semi-Realistic Stonefly Nymph

The next great recipe from Corey Cabral, Frosty Fly Pro Staff - his Semi-Realistic Stonefly Nymph. This pattern imitates large dark stonefly nymphs that frequent the waters of a lot of Lake Ontario tributaries.
For this recipe you need the following:
• Hook: Size 6 Hemingway’s H118 Dry Fly & Curved Nymph Fly Hooks (frostyfly.com/...)
• Thread: 8/0 Uni in black color
• Weight: Lead wire
• Tail: Hemingway’s Soft Stonefly Nymph Tails (frostyfly.com/...)
• Rib: Copper Wire - small
• Body: Hemingway’s Dubbing Hare Plus (frostyfly.com/...)
• Thorax: Hemingway’s Dubbing Hare Plus in black (frostyfly.com/...)
• Legs: Hemingway’s Soft Stonefly Nymph Legs (frostyfly.com/...)

Looks great and well done but normally the underbody on our local stoneflies are lighter on the bottom, not darker.

Hey.. thanks for posting this video. I am a newbie at fly tying. Shouldn't the legs go at the bottom?

Hi Corey. Sorry I haven’t kept in touch. Why don’t you put the legs on after putting a thing base of dubbing on and then wrapping the thorax dubbing between them. I would position the legs in a more accurate position. You wouldn’t get anymore flack for the Superglue if you did... I’ll email you soon.
