I just wanted to take the time to thank you for posting these videos. They are very easy to follow, very fun to tie, have a complete list of materials, and they look awesome! So far I have tied your "creepy crawler" stonefly pattern (which landed me a beautiful 'bow on the Boise River by the way) and I just tied a couple of these hoppers, my 2 year old thought they were real bugs Haha! You can bet I will be using more of your patterns as well. Thanks again Hans, keep em coming!

Thanks for watching. Will post a couple more hopper patterns soon. They don't have to be complicated to catch fish, but they are fun to tie. the next video will be an easy to tie pattern that has taken a great number of fish for me.

Beautiful hopper, can’t wait to try it on the Skagit this week. Thanks for Sharing!

It depends on the rubber leg material. Some rubber legs tend to be a bit more slick feeling, but i find a small dab of super glue works to keep them from loosening at the joints.

I see lots of elaborate hopper patterns like this. They're beautiful for sure, but do you think these catch more fish?

@nikrguy Personaly I have had alot of luck with hoppers and Bass. Not caught a trout on a hopper yet, but then I almost never use a hopper when fishing for trout.

Shouldn't need a sighter on that thing, you could see that hopper for miles. Just one question...how does it float?

hi Hans.. fantastic design.. i've tried doing a few and i like yours.. I am a beginner but I am having same issue you did in video- the body twists on the hook all thru the tying process and by the time i'm done the alignment is all off.. What have you done to solve this?? Thanks! John in CA.
@hansrcsd10 жыл бұрын
Hi John, One solution is to use super glue along the thread base before you fold the foam over for the abdomen- 1:50 during the video. Thanks for watching! Hans
