Steph & Jon, truly a masterpiece on scenery! Also I was amazed on your landing on the sandbar, a great adventure! Keep’em coming! Steph, I know what those migraines are like, I feel for you! I had them for about 30 years and then outgrew them for some reason & hardly have them now which is wonderful! If you ever get to the point they are debilitating, there is migraine surgery here in Cleveland, OH. My daughter had migraines 5 or 6 years ago, I guest from being hereditary, and she got the surgery. Now she hardly ever gets them. Hopefully yours won’t get that bad! Good luck you two! Don

Stephanie Blanchard, lets just say that first 24 hours was way busy at work. The first few hours, not being able to contact my family, while having to work... sucked! Kind of makes me want to seriously change career paths to aviation sooner. LoL. Aside from several road closures, things are pretty much back to normal. Patty and I had several dishes broke, some minor cosmetic damage with the house, otherwise all good. The Pacer went without damage, she probably thought we were landing at picnic... lol. I have a couple of friends that didn’t fair so well, with major house damage. There’s several of us at work, that have construction backgrounds, and are going to help with the labor. :-) Patty and I are going to be in Texas the 6th thru the 17th. Assuming the annual on my dads 170 goes quickly and or you guys are in the area, would you guys be interested in meeting up for lunch?

Oil travels about 4 mph in a pipeline. 800 miles, so about 8.5 days... Insane colors ..are you using any find of light filters?
@gorgly1236 жыл бұрын
How many barrels of oil are in the pipeline at any one time?
@davecat14586 жыл бұрын
My swag guess.1,408,000 barrels. A barrel of crude is about the same diameter of the pipe and abut 3 ft tall. 800 miles x 5280 ft = 4,224,000 ft of pipe/3 = 1,408,000 barrels.

Dang, you didnt get any video of the Million Dollar Bridge. Or of the washed out bridge at mile 36. Very little footage of the Copper River Delta in general. Would have been cool. So, I guess the new trend is to announce that a post is launching at a particular time. This video, one from stevo1 and two others will all be going “live” or premier at the same time. Does this somehow increase ad revenues, or what’s the motivation to post this way? I guess I need four more iPads.
@FLY8MA6 жыл бұрын
Just lets us interact with the viewers while they are watching it when it first launches :)
@garywheeler20556 жыл бұрын
Excuse my ignorance, but what is the advantage of the premier vs standard release? Is it to announce the release?

If a car is driving down the road at 40 mph (or whatever), and you're just sitting there or barely moving, why would they stop? If I'm about to cross the street (on foot), I'd rather the car just keep going and I'll make my way across after they're gone. I hate having other people wait for me.
@TennTed105 жыл бұрын
Why do you fly valley passes in alaska, why not just fly high over all of it? (Non pilot, lower 48 resident)
@FLY8MA5 жыл бұрын
You miss the scenery, turbulence can be worse, and the airplane may not be able to climb that high.
@aodhankarlsson20185 жыл бұрын
You often can’t fly over the tops practically with a piston driven GA aircraft, as mentioned turbulence over the top and wind sheer can be extremely dangerous- and especially in Alaska visibility can be a huge factor too, if you are up top and weather moves in below you, you can become trapped on top with no way down if you’re not instrument rated or outside of radar contact. Additionally at 12,500 feet or higher the pilot must have supplemental oxygen past 30 minutes.That being said some folks start experiencing signs of hypoxia after a time down as low as 5,000 feet.
