Ben Runyan haha...no!! our Whippet was under $500 - got 3rd at the Euro Championship and won many more races in track racing ...but money shouldn’t be a factor when buying an animal anyway. we had him for 16 years and he was priceless!

sorry but i am not trying to start anything but i googled fastest dog in the world for my own curiosity greyhounds are fastest sustainable speed 45mph (hence the dog raceing) and the whippet is fastest acceleration.35mph (hence the flyball competition)

debbie peter Sure. While they are actually quick learners, they lack the need to please their owners that most dogs have, so if they don't see a point in obeying your command, they won't. Also, they get easily distracted and once they're after something, they won't come back. So if you actually get to race a Whippet you'll have to expect that it might run away and I guess most teams don't want to take this risk.

Theyre faster, but they tend to not listen very well :P And herding breeds usually have a little more brains, so theyre easier to teach (meaning you spend less time teaching, and more time training) :P

Christmas Gummyworm herding dogs want a job and look to their handlers more than hunting dogs. Hunting dogs have a high drive to do what they love but aren't as attentive to working that's why BCs top most dog sports
