24v Landcruisers are more common than people realize. Many NATO, military and construction vehicles are 24v. It can be a bit of a nuisance but you learn to work around it.

Do you have 12V also? I have a 61. Previous owner installed an inverter. I just recently added a 12V trailer connector with a 4 pin converter. It works pretty nice. 24V is a bit nuisance like you said but it is not too bad. Thanks for the video .

I have a 24v to 12v converter mounted under my glove box. I run my stereo off of it and a couple gauges. I also use it to charge my phone. Works good. No issues. It also has a memory function which keeps my presets on my radio. However, if I leave it for a couple weeks the batteries will be very week. Cheers.

HDJ 80 is 12 v right ? i have 2 battery so i'm not sure now
@MikeFreda5 ай бұрын
I’m not too familiar with diesel 80 series but most are 12v. Dual batteries can be wired in Parallel (more current capacity for 12v) or wired in Series to give you 24v. The easiest way to tell is follow the wiring arrangement or take a multimeter and measure each battery positive to ground. Cheers.

Thanks for the video mike. Have you updated the roofs cabin interior light to LED as well? Mine could use an upgrade as it’s still pretty dark when on.
@MikeFreda3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. Yes, I did. I just used a standard white LED cabin bulb with a large heat sink. I just had to find one rated for 24v. Fits and works fine.

What about led lights for the ceiling and rearbooth light?Thanks
@MikeFreda2 жыл бұрын
For the ceiling light I jury-rigged a 12V LED array that fits in the entire lens cap. I had to use a dropping resistor to limit the voltage. For the back, I actually installed 3 pairs of 12V LED "button lights" in the hatch lid. Each pair of 12V LED's were wired in series so they can be power by 24V. It works awesome!

We def need a video on your diy roof rack and bumpers. Also are the rockers stealth armor or just replacement panels?
@MikeFreda2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. The rockers are a steel tube that is welded in place of the original rockers. They had rusted out and this was a better replacement solution for me. They aren’t a real slider but are stronger than a stock rocker.

I’m struggling to pop the cluster out... any tricks to share?

If you got all the mounting screws, tilt the steering wheel down and try to reach in and pull the speedo cable off the back.

Bugga mines 12v 🤣

Lol… that makes it easier. You can find green LED’s in 12v. Very common.
