Thanks for a very informative video. It surprises me a bit that AD has not managed (?) to match the first generation top EN C 2 liners with this second generation wing. Of course it could be a strategy behind this. AD may want to stay among the less demanding EN C 2 liners. Be an exellent choise for pilots new to the EN C class. And those are many!

Nice review, would like to see a review of the Hero 2 as a comparison against the Volt 5 even though it is a D
@AsaadBugisАй бұрын
Do you think the Volt 5 is similar to the Omega ULS and they are all in the same category? Also, which one do you prefer between them? i like all your review. thanks a lot .

Im interested to know if you class the Maestro 2 (light) as a "high" high B... that was the impression I got from comparisons, yet the AR is relatively low (5.5). So the pilot demands are High B but AR seems less high B... Anyway, Im considering the Volt 5 as my next wing 🤔😁

I really like the pronounced sections in the review. Maybe you got inspired by one of my recent review videos? 🙃

🙂 From my testing, the real world pilot demands of wings labelled "high B" e.g. Nova MENTOR 7, Supair STEP X, Skywalk CHILI5, PHI MAESTRO 2, Advance IOTA DLS, Niviuk Ikuma 3, Ozone Rush 6 and Gin Avid, etc, vary significantly enough to warrant further distinction, to help pilots make better choices. The pilot demands of some high B wings is not far off mid B wings, whilst others are closer to C wings (actually I've found that some high B wings have higher pilot demands than some C wings). The same applies for other certification class subdivisions e.g. low B, mid B, etc.

This volt 5 is a joke i dont see enough difference between the previous version to make sense. The paragliding industry is totally sick by updating wing every 1/2 year . It is what it is. I guess.
@Sinking_SamАй бұрын
What difference would you expect to see? By the reviews, it seems like the behavior and "personality" of the glider are entirely different than the predecessor.
@anto2699Ай бұрын
@@Sinking_Sam in my view point it doesn't have enough to make it difference the performance is more or less the same and the safety similar. For shure there is difference on the feeling (thankfully if not it's totally the same) but is it enough to make it as a new gliders. For shure for some people it's ok to have a gliders that is different because they changed the triming to remove the small defect of the previous version . But in the car industry they call it second stage and not a new car . Btw I'm not an owner of volt 4 or 5 but I have tried both. And I think having the 4 or the 5 seems to be the same deal . May be better to get the 4 in second hands it will cost less for shure.

@@anto2699 I suspect that in this case it is a matter of the EN/LTF certification threshold. If the changes are enough that it required recertification then the company would definitely want to market it as a new glider, even if just to justify the cost. New colours, a minor material change that doesn't alter the dimensions or the trim.... maybe not so much. I think the car comparison would be when the change is enough that they have to redo NCAP it is a new model. When they just change the headlights and update the interior its a facelift.
@anto2699Ай бұрын
@@MrMacKenzieVideos That's surely true. I hope so I guess. Or it Can also be a marketing method to make people buy more

From the top of my head, the V5 has a different lineplan & length different AR, different arc and different fabric. Thus, a new certification. The way I see it, if we put the "C-2line revolution" aside, usually the changes between new models and their predecessors are not so massive, Especially with gliders that are aimed at bigger chunks of the market.
