As I was mostly flying my Iota DLS cross-country, I decided to get a 2nd wing for higher winds range and decided to get in touch with Tom LittleCloud’s boss. Very easy process, good advices and I’m the happy owner off a Puffin 16m2 perfectly matching my expectation. On top of what is well known for LC miniwings qualities, I was bluffed by the floatability with such a load factor and felt it was time to discover how it would work with the performance wing Urubu. I got a Urubu 22, loaded mid weight range, and after 50 hours below it at the beach, in the French Alps and in weaker conditions back home, I’m very pleased by the performance, the agility, the safe behaviour, the compacity and the quality of construction. I sold my Iota and the Urubu is now my cross crountry wing. Another interesting fact, when you meet LittleCloud pilots, they don’t spend their time talking about materials, they talk about how fun was their previous flights and can’t wait for the next one! Very refreshing!!!

Hugely underrated! A cult following for those in the know, I'm proud to be a member of the Littlecloud family ❤ No other gliders I've ever owned have kept me as safe as my Littleclouds. Collapses, although rare, are a none event, super docile in recovery. On a rowdy looking day, it's always my Littlecloud I'll pick over any of my other (too many) gliders! Hopefully people will look past the lack of EN certification a lot more now that so many have entered the parakite scene e.g. Moustache, which also aren't EN certified. Brilliant overview Carlo 😊😊

Thanks Darren, I get the impression you know LittleCloud and other mini wings and parakites very well, so good to hear you think we got the overview right! 😊

I own a 16 Puffin and 22 La Mouette and absolutely love both wings. I feel like it's the perfect quiver for me and where I live (coastal soaring). I'm a newer pilot (25h. 70kg) and feel like they are both super manageable and fun, playful wings. In fact, I feel more comfortable on them than my normal EN-A PG, since I can penetrate better if the wind comes up.

The best wings on the market the rest are running in slow motion behind Littlecloud. 99% of guys in nipc have one two or three for different conditions xc coastal dunes light conditions strong it doesn't matter they are the only wing to have . The build fabrics are amazing and second to none ,to say they are just a fun wing isn't true some amazing xx here and all over the world with them . Plus the rating means nothing the rating is you ,you are putting yourself in a class there is no class , That's smoke n mirrors to sell you a glider to hold you back so you buy another and another.c,B Little cloud test their wings for months and months unreal flying conditions not in still fake air enc rating is all tlfor the money were little cloud show you the truth in their videos.

Hi Carlo, tnx for this inspiring video. As you know we don't have mountains in the Netherlands. But we do a lot of dune soaring. I've got a 16m2 and a 10m2 Puffin. What a beautiful playful wings they are. I'm truly in love with them. I just ordered a 19m2 La Mouette, to be able to soar in lighter conditions. You made me curious about the Urubu. In summer I fly mostly in Southern France. Strong conditions most of the time. So the Urubu might be the right wing for me there.

Hello...sorry can I ask you your TOW? I'm thinking to La mouette but not sure about the size...16 or 19....so if you tell me your feedback .....specially the wind speed range....can help. Thanks
@bartverhagen73239 күн бұрын
@@liguriadventure_parapendio_out I weigh around 75 kg, so my TOW is around 80/81. I fly with a Kortel Karver harness, so no extra weight. I soar the La Mouette 19m2 with windspeeds between 20 and 30 km/h. Above that I use my 16m2 Puffin and above 45 km/h I fly with a 10 m2 Puffin.
@liguriadventure_parapendio_out8 күн бұрын
@@bartverhagen7323 really thanks for your answer!! I'm naked 65 ...I use a gin convertibile2 with or without reserve/airbag...so my TOW should be max 75kg but in my spot wind over 30kmh is not nice to fly. Best is 20..25..may be 30......so wich size I should use to enjoy la mouette? 16 or 19? ( I'm experienced paraglider and skydiver but I just look for fun...as well little cloud family) Thanks

I had the Urubu for 2 seasons. Very good review Carlo. I found it very damp and very easy to fly. Minimal input all round. I was always on the back foot when flying with others of the same wing loading and similar class wings. Glide was very noticeable against others and thermalling I was always 1 or 2 rotations below the leading pack. It’s definitely a wing designed for the big mountains or for throwing around whilst ridge soaring. I would fly it in the Alps but not on a small UK hill. I guess it’s down to the type of flying your into, UK XC I don’t think so.
@DarrenGoodladАй бұрын
I use mine for UK XC in the North without any issues, the difference being in my part of the UK we have mountains. I agree they aren't the best flatland gliders (South UK) but work really well in tougher more technical terrain like the Lake District, Wales and Scotland.
@DiggeryDoodleАй бұрын
@@DarrenGoodlad fair point, I flew mine in Annecy and as I mentioned it was great for big thermals. The wing was designed around big mountain flying also. All the best.

Here is another soaring pilot from the Netherlands. I own the puffin in sizes 19m2 and 13m2 and they are awesome. I still am in the market for a good thermaling and cross country wing (prob high EN-B), but I keep comparing everything to the rock solid pitch stability and superior speed and playfullness of my miniwings.
@flybubblecarloАй бұрын
Thanks for commenting and sharing your views! 🙏 Based on my testing, you might really enjoy the SuperFly for thermalling and XC flying! The glide performance and sink rate might not be quite as good as the best 'standard' high B paragliders, but it's definitely thermalling and XC capable and has that LittleCloud fun and playful feeling! 😄 flybubble.com/littlecloud-superfly

Great vid Carlo... Where does the spiruline sit in the line up..? I'm around 90kg auw and want something for specific h&f with a little bit of everything else. Def not speed wing. I've clocked a summer of mostly soaring.. Any advice appreciated
@flybubblecarloАй бұрын
Glad you like the vid, thanks for commenting! 😊
@flybubblecarloАй бұрын
The Spiruline is LittleCloud's entry-level mini wing, with the lowest pilot demands. It's an ideal first mini wing. At around 90 all-up weight, I recommend choosing between the 16 and 19 sizes. The 14 would be rather fast, active, and dynamic at that load, flying more like a speed wing and less versatile. The size 18 is probably the best all-round option for you as it has a bit more glide, which is good for hike & fly, considering your intended use and to complementing a standard paraglider flown with normal wing loading.
@flybubblecarloАй бұрын
LittleCloud gives good advice in the "Target" section for The Spiruline which, based on my experience and testing, I agree with: flybubble.com/littlecloud-the-spiruline

I can't judge that wing. It's kind of a revolution that does not fit into the standard regulations. For sure, this fancy new stuff is tempting: faster, more action, or better performance. On one side, I find it quite annoying being regulated so strictly, but on the other side, it might save some lives. You should never forget that the most important thing is training and a good self-assessment.
