Looks more authentic with that damage, none of the old Russian planes in service nowadays are in pristine shape.

If the gear deploys rearward (like this plane,) which moves the cg back, balance the plane with the gear down. If lowering the gear moves the cg forward (like a P-40,) balance the plane with the gear up.

I normally do both . But this one is a bit tricky.

I don't know about flying better after a repair, but you're less worried about tearing it up. I would have used clear Gorilla glue or Bob Smith Industries BSI-142 Clear Foam-Cure..

LOL I did actually use clear gorrilla glue but I had lost some foam not structurally sound now to support the servo in the nose I am afraid. I may just end up with a new fuse if not a new frame. Really like the plane and not ready to give up on it.

@@FatGuyFliesRC You should use BBQ skewers and toothpicks as rebar when making repairs if the foam gets too squishy after a crash.

I had that same jet and was a awesome flyer. I flew mine on a 6s 4000mah. I wish I never sold it

I wanted to like this plane. Its different. But I think Arrows and Eflite done a better job with the Mig29, F15 and A10 if you want a twin 64mm in the hanger. If they made it a twin 70 and larger id probably get myself one as i like how the Battery location is pretty much in the middle so easy to adjust. Not up front in the neck of the fuse.

All those planes you talking about are all made by FMS . Some how I think these Flyfans are as well cause many things on there jets are the same

Mikeylikest1968 is right FMS is the parent company to most planes in china. X-fly is separate but made up of ex FMS designers and techs.

I wanted it to dive with enough altitude to pick up speed but with that sudden shift to rear it was not possible.

It does have one thing it don't like and it's crosswinds , it gets wonky on landing

When I fly anything that scares the living sh£t out of me I just fly it the once or fly something else for a break. The problem is the more you force it the worse it becomes. Really the model has been released too soon had it been fitted with in 64mm runners it might have been successful, just bad luck

If you only left the pitot tube on, the cg would have been just enough more forward to make an emergency landing. lol jk

Where did you get a 115mm cg? Everything I've seen is 125 - 127mm including the manual.

After thus video I realized my error. I actually think it's more like 130 or 128. I meant to have it further back not forward. But regardless my maiden was WAY tail heavy and I crashed her. Many mistakes were made.

If it flew badly tail heavy @ 125mm didn't you move the cg forward? Mine appears to be severely tail heavy @ 125mm and more neutral at 115mm.@@FatGuyFliesRC

Not underpowered. The CG shifted and you gave it up elevator by mistake then changed rates. CG very crucial on this type. Very sorry bro. Hate it when this happens.
