Nice place to Kayak and fish. I own a Blackfoot 180 , I am in my 4th year, and I am still impress by the stability and easiness to use it. I am fully geared to fish, and, most of the time I kayak, I have a line trailing. And , for me, The Blackfoot180, is the very best kayak for my wife and I. Have fun on the water, but stay safe !

Lovely video Dan, well made! I'd definitely suggest a PFD for your next investment, if you go down in that lake with waders on you would probably sink like a stone and have little hope of regaining the surface. Here in Oz it's actually illegal to kayak without a pfd on most waters. But I do love my kayak fly fishing! :)

Just curious. How do you dry out the kayak after you're done? I'm planning on buying the exact same kayak next week. Thanks :-)
@FlyFishDan2 жыл бұрын
Yes! You definitely need to dry it out if it's going to be stored deflated for any amount of time (weeks), otherwise mold could set in. Feel free to use my coupon code (FLYDAN15) and save 15%!

Thanks for the great video, is it possible to fit another chair and use the blackfoot 130 as a tandem kayak, I'm 6,1 my partner is 5,7, I really do like the stability and build quality, I do occasionally fish but I'd probably be using mainly for touring with my partner.. Any chance you could give me your opinion or perhaps do a video with an extra seat fitted in the bf130, I've searched and searched for some information and photos or even videos, still no such luck 🤞
@FlyFishDan2 жыл бұрын
I don’t believe so - not long enough and the support tie downs for the chairs aren’t spaced far enough apart to allow for a safe balance for two chairs/paddlers. They make a two person Blackfoot (160) and my coupon will still work for that boat. Hope that helps!

What do you use to keep your feet warm when you’re in the float tube in the winter. Great videos. Thanks!
@FlyFishDan2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ryan - I use hiking sock liners and smartwool socks. The key is to try not to have things too tight in the boot - that's what causes your feet to quickly get cold. Cheers!

Nice Video, interesting you took a kayak to a spot to "fish from the shore" any thoughts of fishing from the kayak ? I often "troll" from my float tube or small inflatable pontoon. Anyway, appreciated your video of this location.
@FlyFishDan7 ай бұрын
You bet! The toughest part of fly fishing from a kayak is keeping it in the same spot, unless it’s dead calm (no wind) you wind up all over the place and a double anchor system is a pain to manage.
@jackz5846 Жыл бұрын
Hey mate. I got the Chelan. I thought you were supposed to inflate the sides first?

Wen you shoed the banana I started to laugh. I had a real bad experience on my ocean goin boat,, I took some guys fishing a few mile out and wen we got to my favorite spot one guy says hey all the bait is dead in the bait tank, then one of the batteries blows up, and then we start taking on water, so while I m in engine hole pumping out water I said did any of you guys bring any Bananas. On the way back the bait tank pump started working again. Needles to say I rewired everything with new wires.
