Typically when my wife hears me swearing from the other room, it’s when I am tying a pheasant tail body. Wrapping pheasant tail IS that hard. 😂

Thanks that was actually a useful video as a new fly tier. The razor blade. And the half hitch to not bump back and unravel the material. Though you were you frustrated I can’t tell you how I stay away from pheasant tail bodies.

This is a great looking fly. I bet it does well on the water. I was able to find the right hackle ( Herbert Miner Wet Fly Hackle - Dark Brown Dun ) and will tie a bunch for my Summer Montana fishing trip.

Just curious . if you shot a Pheasant , Killed a Squirrel, Got a feather duster and some Christmas tree Tinsel what fly could you make from it.

How about using some UV on the body. That should increase the durability.

MDD MDD you wouldn’t want to put it on top of the pheasant tail, and it wouldn’t cure if you put it under the pheasant tail.
