Flying a Ka8 | Glider | Winchlaunch | POV | Full flight

Today i am flying a beautiful Schleicher Ka8-b which has been restored a couple of years ago with a nice paint job and even Nappa-Leather in the interior. Just one hour earlier i managed to hang on for about 50 minutes but the very warm and moist air together with a front moving in towards the evening led to no usable thermals in reach.

Had so much fun flying K8s at the Dorset Gliding Club in England. Lovely little aeroplanes.

Absolutely delightful. Flew them all over Co. Kildare with the Dublin Gliding Club and off the beaches, slope soaring in Kerry in the autumn. Great days.

Vielen Dank. Thank You So Much ! I got 2 flights exactly 48 years ago and loved them, this brought it all back. Ka (7?) and winch launch. I couldn't get transport for more flights but did a lot of flying years later.

What beautiful condition the Ka 8b is been kept in though I've seldom seen one in the US. Our group imported a Kranick 2 into the US about twenty years ago which was used for several years by several people at North Adams Ma., Harris Hill NY. and a few other locations being disassembled most of the time and placed in storage where it has been for several years now. It was light as a feather to handled on the ground and fly in the air classified "experimental" since no others had ever been brought into the US.

Thinking back from the 60s when I flew the Schleicher K8 in Denmark. Many K8 aircraft are still in use today, preserved by enthusiasts and flying clubs who appreciate their historical value and flying qualities.

Finde ich auch sehr witzig, ich hab keinerlei Kontrolle über die Werbung, man kann sie als nicht Partner weder abschalten, noch kriegt man Geld dafür....
