As a New Englander, completely agree on the Dunkin Donuts coffee perspective. They taste good and get the job done, but balance quality with speed. The region is blessed with a lot of really good local chains (e.g. Aroma Joes) and if you want premium we have fantastic locally owned shops.

7:25 Cape Air doesn't operate the shortest flight in the US, however they are only a few miles away from the shortest or one of the shortest flights which is from westerly RI to Block Island RI a distance of about 17 miles

As someone who does not like to fly this was eye opening. I live in Mass and know Cape Air as the airline to get to Hyannis, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. I didn't realize that they had expanded their flight options! Also, Manchester Regional is located in New Hampshire. Mass does have a Manchester just not with an airport. Hope you enjoyed the foliage and your train back to NY!

I'm sure the pilot appreciates all the modern safety equipment and screens. There have been many updates since 1989. PS My husband was the designer of the hardware that runs those new screens in aircraft.

Having flown these, the G1000NXi was the best part of the entire aircraft, be sure to pass that along to your husband! The 402 flew better and had better performance and - surprisingly - reliability, so I am sad to see it go. Still, they needed to be replaced, they were starting to need more frequent maintenance on minor parts due to their age.

Cape Air aircraft mechanic here. Fun Fact: The taxiing airplane at 0:54 was the airplane featured in the title sequence of the NBC tv show *Wings.* That exact one. And if you're lucky enough to have it for your next flight, you can see the sticker of authenticity/commemoration. It sits just left of the entry door. And if you look reeeeally closely at 0:54, you can just barely see that sticker, just left of the big *N.*

Vermonter here, it's great to see people using Cape Air to get here, I just wish they served more airports in the state. I think more flights to BTV would be well-used, seeing as there is only one daily flight to Boston - not necessarily as an end destination, but for more JetBlue connections.

@@joermnyc The Tecnam is designed to be flown by a single pilot. You would only see 2 pilots if one was being checked by a training captain, or a new hire pilot undergoing line training (or initial operating experiance), or if there was a requirement for 2 pilots such as when the autopilot is unservicable.

I fell in love with these small planes in the early 80's. I had to fly from Charlotte to an airport near Boone for a wedding. Imagine my surprise when walking out of the gate I saw what to me was a private plane. I don't remember the airline's name but I do remember that Navaho Chieftan! I was gobsmacked when they put my luggage in a locker that was part of the engine nacelle. I flew in the front passenger seat due to my weight. During the flight the pilot announced that they couldn't serve us due to the bumpy weather, so they slid a cooler and handed me a big thermos. In the cooler were bottled beverages and various sandwiches wrapped in wax paper. The sandwiches were from a fairly popular deli in Charlotte. I poured a cup of coffee and took a Waldorf Chicken Salad sandwich, and a bag of chips then passed the cooler and thermos on. To this day it might have been the best meal I've ever had in the sky. What it was is that we felt like participants and not just passengers.

At 9:25 is the town of Burlington, Massachusetts, my hometown. The body of water in the center-right is the Town's water supply, the Mill Pond Reservoir, and just under the prop is the house I grew up in (an old farmhouse built in about 1715, and predates the incorporation of the town by about 84 years), and where my parents still live. What happens is that Manchester, NH (sister city to the one in northern England) is a low-cost (to the airlines) alternative to BOS (Logan Airport), just as is Providence, RI as well and the owners of the airport (to lure low-cost carriers, just like in most of Europe) want to stress out that point in their naming.

Hey Paul, Great video! So you might not have known this at the time you recorded the video, but at the 2 minute 59 second mark you show a picture of a Cape Air Cessna 402 with tail number N121PB. If you Google this aircraft, you will find out that this is the actual plane from the TV show Wings back in the 1990's. In the TV Show the fictional airline was called Sandpiper Air and they flew to the fictional Tom Nevers Field on Nantucket. Cape Air has owned this aircraft since shortly after the show aired.

My wife and I have taken that Cape Air flight several times. We have now discovered the Amtrak EAE to Rutland and kind of like it best now. The Cape Air terminal is quite a walk from the Southwest gate and the Cessna 402's are quite noisy and cramped. We find that our total time on the road from Annapolis to Rutland is not too different between flying and Amtrak is a bit more civilized, think we'll take the train from now on.

I took Cape Air a few years ago before covid. The flight was from Boston Logan to Provincetown. The gate agent asked our weight and my friend and I were joking about how much we weighted. The agent was not amused and politely told us if we lied and the weight distribution was off. We had a chance of not getting airborne or a ruff landing. Also we were in the older Cessna and the pilot had his arm out the window as we took off down the runway, disconcerning to say the least but it was a fun short fight and reasonable
