Ah the old buzzsaw, brought back memories for me. As a retired AC employee, I was there when we took delivery of the A319/320/330/340 fleet to replace our 727's and 747's. Fun fact, in the 90's, the company decided to keep the DC-9s though. They liked them so much, that they refurbished every one with new interiors. Personally, I loved the DC-9'S, it was a fantastic airplane. The Airbuses, however, I was never a fan of initially. Took me a while to get used to them. They were comfortable from a passenger perspective, but from a pilots perspective, they were not very stable in turbulence, due to the lightweight composite material they were made of. The airplanes gave us a lot of problems in the beginning with the fly by wire system, but with any new airplane, there are always bugs in them, that take time to fix. One thing I loved about the Airbuses, is the size of the cockpit, it's huge, compared to Boeing. I got many a cockpit ride on them, and was fascinated by the experience. In general, the pilots basically monitor the computers, as the airplane is fully automated. It was just amazing to watch the pilots fly with the Airbus joystick, as opposed to the Boeing yoke. Another thing I liked about the Airbus, is that it sits higher off the ground, compared to a 737, and the cabin is a bit wider. The Airbuses did grow on me after all these years, and I will certainly miss them. Enjoyed your video.🏆

I’m not that old, but i grew up flying air canada’s a320 , 767 and embraer aircraft, and something about that blue interior and that ife is really nostalgic to me. Lots of great memories. Thanks for the video Alex

Hey Alex, thank you so much for making this. The Air Canada A320s are part of some of my greatest, and earliest memories that made me the obsessed plane geek I am today. I think a lot of frequent flyers in Canada will always have a special place for the AC A320 in their hearts. And making a report on such a "mundane" flight truly captures the experience like none other. Long live the buzz saw!

I flew on these all through my childhood... they are 100% my favourite plane. I felt that they aged very well, and it's nice to see they will live on with the NEO.

I remember flying on the 320 when they were purchased by AC. I made too many trips to remember on that type and they were always enjoyable both in business and economy. Post the vids when you can dude, it will help relieve the boredom and put a bit of entertainment into the mundane days. Thanks for the production.

Hey there Alex. Love your channel. I thought you might like to know that my uncle (Tom Higgins) was the project director and lead engineer on the Dash 7, Buffalo and Otter. Prior to that, he worked for years with AVRO during the time of the Arrow. He was the lead engineer in charge of the tail design and assembly of the Arrow. He was courted by NASA after the project was canceled but remained up north. NASA is what it is because of the brilliant minds from Malton.

He also brought the Dash 7 to Sarnia and took my family for a ride along with the press. That was really cool!

I remember my first flight on an A320, thinking it felt slightly robotic. Everything it did had a "whirrrrr...click" quality. The oldest Air Canada hardware I've flown on lately (if 2017 qualifies as "lately") was a Rouge 767. As I got on I thought "what a charming antique!"

Flew on this plane sooooo many times last year between yul and lax. It's noises and squishy seats became a bit of a comfort. Then took the new A220 from Yul>Yeg at the start of the pandemic... it freaked me out how quiet it was. 😂

LOVES the BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZSAW Alex.. Here in my town, (Mount Gambier, Australia), we STILL use the Sweden built SAAB's. As they are small enough for our runway, but noisy enough to have a BUZZSAW as well.. Sorry I dont know the model number of these SAAB's, but they do our region very well for a small plane... (PS: Upon doing a bit of a search, Alex the SAAB we got is a 340 truboprop ).

@andreforcier974 жыл бұрын
one42chrisp the DC8-63 were nice. If they had IFE screen they would be, compared to some today, very nice. When we could, getting on a B777-300ER in a high capacity seating configuration, I think I would take the DC8s 🤷♂️✌️.

People always complain about Air Canada, but I have never been proud to always been on it. I don't really care for the service they provide. I just want to be alone. Sleep or think about few bunch of things before I land. I don't want to be bothered. I always had good experience with Air Canada. In fact, I think I only used Air Canada for all of my international flights.

spent so many hours on these AC a320's!! they are such nice planes to fly in, even exonomy. I would fly in a a320 over a 737NG or a321 any day. I find passenger fatigue is way lower in this aircraft. I hope they dont retire these any time soon!

Given the current size of the channel plus the fact that it mostly deals with Canadian domestic flights/operators, your strategy in managing this channel is realistic. Your approach has actually proven to be a viable one under the ongoing flight restrictions. Personally, I don't mind how dated your reports may be as long as they are relevant! That said, this was the first time that I found the sound of a turbofan to be irritating and annoying! 😅😅

Embraer 190's are old?? They are from the mid-2000s or just aroud 15 years old, that is the half of what a modern aircraft can fly

That really does suck because of COVID-19 virus that’s why nobody can travel in the skys, those restrictions are steadily lifting like you said, this does not mean that we can automatically get back into travelling the aviation industry. it’s likely that COVID-19 will end in July of this year.
