I have 90 minutes of dual with a retired Tomcat jock at Vacaville. Takeoffs & landings on Lake Berryessa were the most fun I've ever had flying! However, the original offer of a $139k, fully amphibious LSA turned out to be a $400k pipedream cum nightmare. Yesterday I read they filed for bankruptcy protection. So sad. I dreamt of selling my NJ home after my wife of 43 years died, buying a pup tent and camping gear and living off lakes in the USA & Canada. Oh well...😢😢😢

Yes a nice product. But they can't make them. This company has made a lot of advertisement about this aircraft. And many people have placed a deposit on the A5 but don't get the product. There are about 1'000 people still waiting for this product with only around 150 being made to date. The other problem these people have too, is that when this aircraft first came out it cost about $140'000. And as most people are still waiting for their A5 the price has gone up now almost 4 times. This means that people have to now pay a lot more for their A5 if they still want it. That is just wrong.

Slow speed, short range and a $400K price tag. Its an Icon alright, an Icon for having more money than brains.

@@kurthoman242 you're crazy if you think that planes worth $400,000.

@@lamontmiller1761 Yeah, $400,000 for a LSA is WAY too much. It doesn't do much of anything (other than land on water) that something like a Sling 2 or RV-12 doesn't already do at less at 1/3 the price.
