Flying at the Indianapolis Motor Speeday

FINALLY! Ever since I've moved to Indianapolis, I've wanted a chance to fly at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This iconic racetrack has hosted the Indianapolis 500 since it's first race in 1911, and for the first time.. since WWII it's not going to be hosting the race during May, which is crazy. I connected with Keep Indy Indie and got a chance to go out and film some social media content on behalf of the track, and I got to use the footage to make this vlog! ENJOY!

Awesome!! First time I went to the 500, my jaw dropped at the scale. One of the most amazing places I have ever seen in person. If you have not been, GO!!! It's a lifetime experience, but bring earplugs because it's louder than you can imagine. The whole experience was pretty unbelievable!! Thanks for posting Nurk!!!!!! Love it.

Hallowed ground. I have spent 70 years 35 moles west of there. How many hoosier boys have played hooky from school and went to the track in may. Hundreds I guess. And men have played hooky from work for the same reason. I remember looking forward to MAY. The last time I was there was for the Red Bull Air Races.

I think you've said this in a previous video; do you ever fly in level mode? I have trouble flying in acro while keeping the drone slow and level, but have no issues when flying in level mode. Is it a skill thing? Skill definitely has a role to play, but I am not sure that practicing will ever get me to the shot I am thinking of in my head (or maybe the shot I am thinking of is only achievable with ducts).

The Isle of Man TT is the biggest sporting event in the world, 2 weeks of motorcycle racing around public roads. The course is just over 37 miles long with over 200 corners. This is just an oval. Cars going round in circles lol

The track is so big, you'd have to use a fish eye, a gopro might catch it but the international airport flys over every few minutes and a university hospital is nearby. Airmap says 300 ft ceiling. DJI has a 150ft ceiling or something like that.
