Flight attendant here! So the shoulder straps are a requirement from the FAA. In economy, the seat in front of you or the bulkhead (the wall) would allow impact absorption in combination with the brace position. In first and/or business class you wouldn't be able to reach the next seat pod due to the larger distance and that's why a shoulder strap is required. Meals come on board fresh! I don't recall any Boeing or Airbus planes having freezers in the airline I work for, we only have "coolers" that use the cold air from the higher atmosphere! When ice cream is on the menu, it comes in box of ice. We don't have microwaves (cause I'm guessing that could interfere with like sensitive equipment?) we heat everything in speed-ovens!

As a private jet designer- a three piece harness (one that has a shoulder strap) is used because there needs to be a certain distance between your headrest and the nearest seat/bulkhead in front of you. Because you are more spread out in business class there is too much distance so you need a shoulder harness to not go flying forward

I used to do a lot of travel for my job--I found that looking like you belonged in Business class often worked to get you upgraded. Of course this was during a certain event and the attendants were working hard to distance people as much as possible. I would usually be in nice slacks, Johnson and Murphy shoes (they check those) and a nice button down. This was shockingly effective. Maybe 2-3 out of 5 flights I would find myself in Business.

Next flight, to help try and combat the face dryness, i reccomend a layer of normal lotion, then follow that up with a layer of Vaseline or CeraVe healing ointment. The Vaseline helps create a barrier to lock in the moisture of the lotion, and helps to prevent the dry air of the air plane from sucking the life from your skin.

Vaseline isn't a moisturizer though and can actually do the opposite, and/or can cause your face break out if you have sensitive skin. Just reapplying a face moisturizer throughout the flight is the best thing to do.

@@meghanh2511Vaseline is really really good for your skin, people in cold areas use it as a barrier to protect from frost bite from the wind hitting their skin. It does seal in moisture great. Just saying I’m also someone prone to breaking out and Vaseline makes me break out the least as well!

Airlines tend to theme their meals on the destination they just left. A nice goodbye for anyone leaving, be it for work or going off/returning from a holiday. I do love the Aussie pies, they should’ve put that in as an option. If you fly internationally again, see if you can try an Asian airline-there tend to be a lot more snack options. Singapore Airlines or JAL would be my pick out of LAX.

The reason you feel shitty after airplane food is partly because the food is greasy and salty, but it's also because eating at high altitudes - It all has to do with the pressure, and that pressure and the higher altitude affects how you interpret taste. To combat this, airlines often rely on extra salt, extra sugar and extra carbonation to enhance the taste of certain food and drink products.

27:30 Interesting fact, the reason why plane food always seems to taste weird (as in, either very bland or way too salty) is because we can't taste as much at high altitudes (I think it's specifically the lower air pressure, but look it up just in case I'm wrong). So a lot of airline companies either don't do anything to the food (and it tastes bland), or add extra salt to compensate. It's basically a lose-lose situation, but they obviously still have to provide food.

Airline meals are prepared at an airport catering facility contracted by the airline. They are cooked and plated at the facility. Quick chilled. Loaded on the plane where flight attendants reheat the hot meals in the aircraft ovens. Re plate the meals and serve them to passengers. Loved the vlog! Thanks.

This really is a come down since we all know $Millionaire Lucas normally flies via one of his many private jets. I was waiting on Lucas kicking off about the lack of Champagne, Caviar, Truffles, Saffron, Oysters, Wagyu Beef, Gold Leaf, Foie Gras, Fugu and all the other rich people foods not available. 😃 Normal Airline meals are prepared at an airport catering facility normally off site some where close via a contracted catering company. They are cooked and plated at the location and placed in containers wheeled onto the plane into chillded compartments. Then depending on what you want the flight attendants use the high speed convection oven specifically designed for heating all the pre-cooked, chilled in-flight meals onboard all class galleys and corporate jet environments. Then it's a quck ice touch to the plate and brought out to you as the plate is luke warm.

Lol as a flight attendant for another airline, catering issues ARE a terrible thing to happen. Some people save so much to fly, and it costs a lot regardless. So when you have to break that news, and can’t just “go to the kitchen” to rectify it, it really sucks :/ you guys seem awesome for being so kind about it. They definitely should’ve checked the meals and addressed that on the ground though.

I've never had the shoulder and lap belt in business/first/economy ... that's weird. One of my favorite things about business/first is the amenities kit and the slippers so I can take off my shoes while I nap and don't have to put them on to use the restroom ... you do NOT want to go in airplane toilets in your socks!!! Yikes. And I love the hot towels ... just to cleanse your hands before you eat and to freshen up your face.
