Who are Kara and Nate?!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment. We discovered the world of “travel hacking” & became obsessed. So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world. Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went home to “normal life.” We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with this lifestyle and did everything we could to keep going. 4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time. Van life was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎

Yours is one of the sailing channels I watch to feel again like I'm sailing. I had a 1982 NACRA 5.8 I sailed out of Long Beach, CA and also raced 30' Shields. I learned to sail on Lido 14s down to the Sabot. I LOVED sailing (maybe has something to do with Norwegian ancestry or being born the Chinese Year of the Black Water Dragon) but now I've retired to the Utah desert, 70 years old, and can't walk without a lot of pain. So you can see why channels like yours, GreatCircle, Wynns, Parlay, and others are so beloved by me. You all are the closest I'll ever get to being on the water again. Thank you!

The reason the pasta was just "meh" is because it was VEGAN!!!! Come on Kara, you are a carnivore, I know you are, I have seen it a hundred times, I mean you have eaten everything from spiders to testicles, from fermented shark to a fertilized duck embryo egg!!! and no matter what any Vegan ever tells you, it will NEVER......EVER match real food because these days, half the vegan ingredients and products are man made, chemically altered, grown in a lab and tastes NOTHING like what it is supposed to be imitating. It's kind of like the movie "The Thing".....It may look similar to the original but eventually the horror comes out!!!

2:00 Mint (and most first-class cabins) have higher weight limits for their passengers' bags. I fly first class on the legacy carriers occasionally, and almost always have 50+ lb bags and don't have a problem. So, all airlines are your new favorite airline, I guess.

When I lived in Europe quite some time ago, flying was a constant; both there, and in the U.S. Every flight, whether First/Business Class, or Economy, had silverware, real dishes etc., full service, plenty of arm and leg room as well. It's a shame to see how far airlines have fallen in this regard, especially here in the U.S. And it's really not that long ago, either. Sad that one must pay through the nose for things that should be a given on all flights, and not just based on what class one flies. Flying currently is akin to taking a Greyhound bus, including how passengers dress and behave, and yes, even in First Class.
