We visited Georgetown about a month ago. My GF is from there and we visit her mom every few years. Guyana have its many charms and we enjoy it every time we visit. It's interesting to see a country that NO one really cared about until the discover of BIG OIL. Now all these "Ambassadors" from other countries mainly the US and major companies want a part of Guyana. We stayed at the Marriot and it was teaming with nothing but people from the oil industry and foreign investors. Although the oil is helping with the building of new infrastructure it will also change the charms that is Guyana into just another clone of any US city. There is already talk about Starbucks entering Georgetown not to mention that multibillion dollar gated resort that will be built for all the RIch Foreign oil C.E.Os and investors... Great Video by the way.

Exactly what I am saying. Since the discovery of oil in 2018, it's Guyana this and Guyana that. The same country so many Americans knew about but dis not want to visit because it was only know for the Jonestown tragedy. Which of course was a Caucasian American that went there and our people allowed him to do nonsense. Funny how things can turn

I understand ...y'all can remain in the shit and misery...without any future. I passed by Guyana in 2016 ...it was like being in a wild land no rules, corruption and workers in construction site wearing flip-flops and shorts... people playing music on the road so loud as if everyone would be deaf...no sidewalks at all....no construction codes.. i can say more...people driving with only one rule in mind: Create your one line. I came back 2020....now construction workers started wearing safety boots, vest, ...looks like all those "Ambassadors" are teaching y'all how to be more civilized.

Thanks for visiting Guyana . You were totally misinformed about the “seven curry “ origination. First of all, the leaves ( lotus flowers) were brought to Guyana by the Indians after the abolishment of slavery. These leaves are being used up to now by Hindus in their cultural practices. Pakora is an Indian dish . Curry, masala , dhal, tumeric etc. were introduced by Indians. Please visit the Indian people next time you visit Guyana.

How easy and tasty it is to pray with someone else's scapular, I wondered if the true Guyanese territory east of the Essequibo River named after Spanish origin is a gray territory with nothing infertile and ugly? who live showing the territory that belongs to Venezuela by history and reason. For Guyanese who pretend they don't know In 1814 Holland ceded to England, for three million pounds sterling, 20 thousand miles of territory to the British, equivalent to 32,187 km2, which represents its territory between the Demerara Berbice and Essequibo rivers , never west of the Essequibo river, every Guyanese must feel ashamed to be part of a robbery and a usurpation that we will soon recover our Venezuelan Essequibo. all those people who intend to comment, I propose that you accept a debate to teach you what they do not tell you in your colleges and universities Esequibo is Venezuela 🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪

I don't get the allure of open air markets with no food safety standards, let alone eating your food off a weed growing along the side of the road. The guide sounded like he was making it up as he went along, just like his "recipes". He kept saying don't try to follow what he is doing because he obviously does not know himself. Curry is an Indian not African dish and that is obviously how it came to the country so getting someone of that background to cook it would have made more sense. I never got the pretentiousness with eating poor people's food in foreign countries made by people who you never see wash their hands and throw ingredients around on cross contaminated or dirty surfaces.👎

I don't think venezuelans understand how borders work. Delusional and sad
@americosifontes6677
@americosifontes6677 2 жыл бұрын
@@unboundplace4616 Sad for You. look mediocre historical, I am going to educate you animal with 2 legs, so that you understand that all the American territory was discovered by Spain and the region that goes from the Orinoco to the Amazon was under its influences in the discovery of Spain, this allowed its Dutch Colony occupy the region between Essequibo, Demerara and Berbice, never west of the Essequibo River. 2 ... I remind you that Colombia, that great country, was born in 1819 in the city of agontuta, Venezuela, in the region of Spanish Guayana, and before that imbecile birth, Venezuela already existed since before 1528, the region of Guayana, dominated by the Spanish, so so that before 1777 and after 1777 the captaincy of Venezuela was created, its limits were always the Essequibo river with the Dutch, the independence of Venezuela arrived in 1810 and this has its border in the Essequibo river, Granada, Guayaquil, Panama join, Venezuela under the name of Colombia, birth as I told you in Venezuela and this new nation its limit with the Dutch is the Essequibo River and by 1819 the English well recognize this border, 1830 Venezuela returns to being a country without union and its border remains the same and this same recognized by all the European powers. 3.. how native are the Guayanes, idiot, a society full of black Africans, Chinese, Indians and Venezuelan natives whom you despise as an inferior race, educate yourself, study, you scoundrel, Guyanese, the education of your unhappy country is so rubbish that you have no arguments to face to any Venezuelan for the defense of our territory, if you think you are so right, show something historical where your shameless country without history can aspire to have our Essequibo. 4.. Guyanese have nothing to say that the Essequibo territory belongs to you only that fraud of 1899, your evil society and country was created under the mother of all tyrannical and usurping nations like England, your country exists because Venezuela wanted it that way and when they gave independence to guyana, Venezuela very specifically recognizes this new state west of the Essequibo River. If Venezuela does not do this, they would still be a colony of hypocritical usurpers.

I agree with the previous comments. You have captured the country so with passion and respect especially as you didn't know what to expect. I await in anticipation for the next episode. Where can I find the recipes for the curries? My last visit to Guyana was in 2020 as I am of Guyanese parentage born in London, but I consider Guyana as my home. Well done.
