Definitely true that there are often magnetic disturbances and anomalies in the Bermuda triangle. Experienced it first hand aboard a Navy vessel back in the mid 90's. The ship I was aboard abruptly lost power. Everything went down temporarily. it'd never happened before or after that and there were no causes found by engineers nor had it been seen before by seasoned sailors.

2 fellow ppg pilots have had motor outs over water in the Fort Myers area. Fortunately, both were picked up by boaters right away. I strap my powerfloats to my maverick frame, and also wear a mustang auto inflate pfd. Highly recommend redundancy when over water. Have an emergency plan in place, and make sure you are checking in with someone every time.

What motor do you have? As an aside, the Bermuda Triangle has been pretty much debunked. Insofar as loss rate, that area is either average or slightly below average - it simply has a very large volume of traffic of all types hence there will be a degree of accidents. Like an intersection with lots of fast moving traffic. Cheers
