Flying KLM's Embraer E2 🤩 Amsterdam-Toulouse | Economy Comfort

See (and hear) what it’s like onboard KLM Cityhopper’s Embraer E2 in Economy Comfort - KLM’s extra legroom economy offering. I’ve also included the journey from central Stockholm to Arlanda Airport where I board one of the world’s youngest 737-800s for the flight to Amsterdam - but we don’t linger on that one because the main event is the big-engined E195-E2. After a quick stop at Amsterdam Schiphol’s very decent Priority Pass lounge, the Aspire Lounge - we get some nice exterior views of the E2, I take a look around the beautiful cabin, we hear the Pratt & Whitney Geared Turbofan (GTF) whale sound several times, I marvel at how quiet the takeoff is, I celebrate KLM for offering free snacks and drinks inflight, and we cap things off with some beautiful views of the south of France and a nice leisurely arrival into Toulouse, home of Airbus. I prefer flying Embraer for comfort, low noise and 2x2 seats I hate 3x3.. Embraer is a great aircraft and also very safe. Now with the E2 model even better.

As ex crew of 21 years based out of Amsterdam I’m happy to report that the aircraft water tanks are regularly cleaned by maintenance and that crew themselves practically survive on coffee made out of those same tanks.

Also, as to your coffee comment and the water that goes into it: if it is Dutch tap water, you're all good! That's some of the best-tasting, safest drinking water in the world, probably not unlike Sweden's. @@airedition

True! The problem is what happens to it once it goes into those aircraft tanks, which people always say are fairly full of bacteria.

Another great video on Air Edition, especially for those who rarely get to Europe; or never get there. Good to know it still exists. Had somewhat mixed feelings about using whales in those cool-looking E2 engines, but as long as they're not hurt, guess it's okay. So far, Gabe Leigh and Air Edition are pitch perfect. Keep it up!

We'll be flying KLM City Hopper on an E195-E2 from AMS to VCE in a couple of weeks, connecting from an overnight DL flight from ATL. I'm pretty sure I'll be happy with a cup of good coffee to wake me up.

KLM is also my favourite airline, in my own experience I have always found the Dutch people very friendly and KLM customer service the best you could ask for. Amsterdam Schiphol airport very easy to negotiate and KLM just a fantastic airline. Amsterdam too is a very nice place to visit if you have the time and can afford to.

Ì completely agree with you when it comes to KLM giving out free food and drink, this for me represents fantastic value compared to other penny-pinching airlines as you put it - but I wouldn't really want to waste my time about dwelling on the negativity of other airlines, so maybe don't make that video However I do recall hearing North American airline passengers saying about when it comes to choosing an airline to fly with outside North America and in particular Europe that they would almost always opt for one of well-established European airlines because they feel that they represent much better value for money than the likes of United, American, Delta or Air Canada.

Nice video on q nice plane. While the engines are quiet, I keep asking myself why the air conditioning on the e2 is so loud. Louder than older e-jets or a220 it seems

It’s a good question. Might it not be because with quieter engines, the air conditioning is a more dominant sound, not as drowned out by engines? That wouldn’t explain it being louder than the A220 though; I hadn’t noticed that!

1. I didnt realize BA eithin europe is basically a LCC and had quite a surprise on a LHR-MAD route maybe five years afo... Shame them! 2. I always drank the coffee and never had an issue until I developed food poisoning the day after drinking coffee on a MEX-SFO flight on UA. I've continued to do so... But with some anxiety.

By the time you were making your video KLM had already decided to switch aircraft manufacturer from Boeing to Airbus for their next order of narrow-bodied, short-haul airliners. Undoubtedly like Qantas and Air Canada they have decided not to stick with Boeing following the bad publicity surrounding the 737 and the fallout that followed which led to a massive loss of trust where Boeing's commitment to safety is concerned.
