Being an older man at 66... this has the WOW FACTOR! From ATC to flying private in the 70s to 80s its great to see someone had the ability to make this happen! For what you are given for your funds spent I'm not seeing any slacking but, more than enough aid to continue onto your dream of being the best of the best afterwards. Truly unbelievable and amazing! An exciting opportunity and video!

Another great video, Sam. You seem to have a natural aptitude for aviation. I think you would make a great commercial airline pilot. Emirates is smart by taking Cadets with no prior experience. This way you are trained to fly the Emirates way with no misconceptions. What a great opportunity for a young person who wants to become a commercial airline pilot. The United States has nothing comparable to the Emirates flight school.

Can't believe I just watched Sam Chui realize my childhood dream! This brought back so many memories of me as a 9 year old boy, spending hours playing airliners at home, every room was a separate country with its own airport. There's me piloting a jumbo jet from the living room to my bedroom, communicating with the imaginary tower, disembarking imaginary passengers in the imaginary airport in my bedroom. A little boy's dreams (sigh...).

Set the standards? The only thing EK knows how to not set is the MCP so the incoming crew can turn a 777 in to a cruise missile, 260 knots and still on the runway because the FD “didn’t tell them” to take off.
@Jpmrvz
@Jpmrvz 2 жыл бұрын
this is an awful initiative, the academy costs more than 200k the two years for foreign students, an absoute insult to any person looking for legit pilot training, not even a guaranteed job and since it's emirates, chances are you´ll end up without a job at emirates and -200kUSD

@@NovaScotiaKevin Yeah isn't Emirates one of those airlines that insists pilots do nearly everything on autopilot and heavy use of flight director etc? I mean others do it too to some degree, but I heard with them it's excessive, to the point that even if you have thousands of hours you have barely any real flying experience (as in hands on flying).

The only standards these people know how to set is throw a lot of money at shit other people built and designed and they don#t really understand. Which is why 100 years from now they will be exactly the same place they were 100 years ago. In the desert, cutting each other's heads off. The only exception is Kuwait, as they were the only ones who actually diversified HEAVILY from oil and made shit happen.

Max! Stop smoking weed dude. Any other country can match this type of programming. This is simply pushing program buttons. The programming for these jets are pathetic. It would seem that 90 weeks to get the ATPL exams done is a bit overkill when most integrated courses do them in 4-6 months....

Yes, I agree, lot of ground before practical flying starts. I think one reason is to make sure the cadet can pass all the exams, those failed may not able to proceed to flying phase.

Looked like an amazing experience, but this flight training organization has been known to charge way over what flight training should actually cost just because they share the 'Emirates' trademark. I for one have been at a similar "big name" integrated training organization who continuously advertised about how good/new their facilities are, but underneath all of that was an environment that did not focus on the cadet despite their large investment, but rather how much money the organization could potentially make from you.

EFTA attracts a fair amount of students from UAE nationals sponsor by the government and neighboring countries which lack of decent training facilities. It is a business at the end of the day like all flight school but they aim to be world class teaching and use the Emirates brand name to set it apart. The $180k 2 year cost includes your accommodation and food which can be expensive in Dubai.

@@SamChui Here in Australia, we have the Virgin Australia cadetship, and if we graduate, we have secured a job at Virgin Australia; with this academy, it seems as though you are just kicked out once you have passed and left to look for jobs on your own although you are put through a selection process with the emirates one which is not even securing you a job which can be difficult.
