First vid of yours I've seen - normally hate music in these kind of videos but you've managed to hit the nail on the head as far as music volume is concerned. Was actually enjoyable. Also helps that the music only kicked in after startup - for us purists out there. Great vid.

Very nice video. Couldn't help but notice on start-up that it has the same headliner as a GM auto. The fuzzy ceiling that begins to fall down after a decade. For the money an R66 costs you'd think they'd at least have a faux leather headliner like a Honda or real leather like a Guimbal Cabri. Cool post! Happy skies to you!

When I was flying with Silver State Helicopters [cry] out of KRYY, PDK would never let us into their pattern; they were always way to busy to have us puttering around in an R22. However, Dobbins was was really nice about letting us through their airspace. They were bright and perky on the radio; maybe they just weren't very busy :)

Young helicopter pilots in the US, like young physicians, are often paid starvation wages. Non-military-trained pilots, also like many US physicians, also tend to have mountains of debt from training. Can't speak for this guy's specific situation, but for a lot of early-career helicopter pilots, Über isn't such a bad analogy.

I feel like saying current information as opposed to information -whatever it is, takes the same amount of time. Most controllers will come back and ask you to confirm the letter, taking more time. Cool video though.
@AlaskaErik7 жыл бұрын
My thoughts exactly. I've told tower I have Kilo only to be told Lima is now current. It can switch that fast.
@markrussell.5 жыл бұрын
Your absolutely correct, saying current information is like saying I have the numbers. What numbers?
@CareyWiley5 жыл бұрын
Well, the issue is the ATIS changes frequently, usually at the same time, so yes they have to, by ATC order, confirm you have the ATIS and confirm the correct letter. if you dont, they are required to read off the aris information to you which takes a lot more time! Look in that order as well, if you say with the numbers, they're still required to read off the atis....not the same thing....safe flying!
