During university I had to fly home 3 times a year round trip, so about 6 flights a year for 4 years, I flew them all with Porter. In ~22 flights I only experienced 1 delay, it was a 6 hour delay due to a mechanical failure (it was -35°C outside)… but they gave everyone $150 vouchers which was great! When served food/drinks on board during a 2 hour flight, the glasses were larger than other airlines, and I always got placed near from the back and the flight attendants would usually just offer me the rest of the can, or juice jug which was awesome of course. We always got to our destination 10-20 minutes ahead of time. Loved flying Porter! Used Westjet 1 time in the same airport and they didn’t even serve drinks, just a cookie.

To get to the city my university is in (which is a focus city for several Canadian airlines), I had to either take Air Canada, Westjet, or the far cheaper option of American Airlines and then connecting with Porter for two more flights. The cheapest option was the no brainer, and Porter certainly has become my favorite airline in Canada. Also, they have the best Q400 cabins I've ever seen. Airy and comfortable, with pretty good legroom for the type.

I've never flown Porter but have only heard good things about them. I live in Chicago, I should take a trip to Toronto and try them out. I love that they use actual glassware instead of plastic cups!

I flew a few times to Chicago with Porter. It's pretty neat: you can come pretty late (around an hour before boarding), no issues unless there is a storm going around; snacks and there used to be wine as free drink. But keep in mind that you most probably are going to fly on propeller plane (not jet, and a bit slower that a jet), as you are most probably be landing at Billy Bishop airport and not Pearson (which is shown in the video). And Billy Bishop airport is in residential area, so no jets and no landing past 10:20-ish pm. But you land very close to downtown and there is a shuttle to union station from where you can get anywhere in Greater Toronto Area (and if you are lucky - Niagara Falls service from GO transit, as they do weekend service on Lakeshore West route during summer). And, if you want, you can take a ferry from the airport or just go through underground tunnel to get to the "mainland" part of Toronto from the airport. 1 more thing - if Porter hasn't changed the route yet, you will be flying from Midway.

Delta was the first airline I ever flew in summer of 2015. I was visiting my dad for 5 weeks and we went to the Philadelphia International Airport and went on Delta Airlines to Chicago O’Hare International Airport and we waited for a flight from there to Wichita

I never flew with Porter, but I likely will in the foreseeable future. But since porter is a new airline, the service is expected to be good, but one time goes by and porter expands their routes and fleet, things could go downhill.

Does this airline actually make a profit at those fares?? That is absolutely crazy. I live in Raleigh (NC) and it costs about $700 RT (coach), (no amenities, only drinks and snacks) to go from Raleigh to Atlanta on Delta....and 240 on Southwest. We need an airline like that down here.

Title: Me: “My knowledge is beyond your understanding” 😂 Honestly a pretty good experience, cheapest flights to Canada from Newark during my study abroad. Good times. I got there 3 hours early as it’s international and at least I thought 3 hours early was normal but because the flight I was supposed to board was delayed they got me on the earlier one. Seats were comfortable for a 50minute flight and complimentary wine was nice. Only problem was my time at the US border returning back 😭, but that’s beside the point.
