I'm half way through training to get type-rated on this big, bad and beautiful Cessna 185 Skywagon amphibian. 300 HP, 1,550 KG MTOW, up to 6 seats...
Join me as I continue training with instructor Derry Gregoire of Aquitaine Hydravions in Biscarrosse, France. We go on an impromptu rescue mission to deliver oil to a stranded PA18 Super Cub along the way...

Where I come from you are flying a floatplane. In a seaplane the underside of its fuselage is actually a boat hull and that is what you land on. Otherwise I enjoyed the video and I subscribed.

Yes that’s technically correct… although “seaplane” has become kind of generic. Thanks for subscribing! More floatplane stuff coming up in 2024.
