Yes it is. For the best flying you have to wake up before the storms.

Vans RV are pretty sweet planes, flown a couple of them and recently Janis and I had the opportunity to fly with the Full Throttle Formation Team of Vans RVs awesome…. Good job, good to see longer videos, I know they take a lot of time to edit, but so worth it!

Thanks for sharing. I have yet to fly formation, I will put that on the list. I will still continue to do a few "shorts" for those with limited attention span :)

The story telling in this video is great. It's a step up from some of your previous videos. I really liked how the parts before the flying (e.g. pre-dawn, coffee, driving) added to the overall story of this video. Well done.

All the RVs experimental aircraft is a great aircraft to operate and owning depending upon the cost at retail but I love the Tailwheel version on the RV8

Awesome video editing! That was an enjoyable flight. Looking forward to doing it again. Next time you can be my official safety pilot so we can shoot some approaches.

Hello John, Nice RV9a. I have a RV9A also and was interested in getting the center console with the throttle quadrant. Could you give me some info on how you did this or where to purchase parts? Thank you

@@ShaneKnucklesTV I didn't build it but I can put you in touch with the builder.

How do these planes handle in high DA situations and mountain flying? ....maybe vs a turbo arrow?
@LarjoskiFlyingAway3 жыл бұрын
Not sure about that since this is not the aircraft I typically fly. I’m sure you can find the correct answers in a pilot forum. Thanks for watching.

Interesting question! My -9A is a really great climber with an O-320 and CS prop. The Arrow is a much heavier and somewhat draggier aircraft without a ton more power (of course it also carries quite a lot more, including more people!). I suspect the DA would have to get fairly high before the turbo would let the arrow would outclimb a 160-hp 9, but I'm also pretty sure that point exists. The main downside with a -9 in mountain flying would likely be flying in mountain turbulence, it can be Mr. Toad's wild ride given the light weight of the aircraft.
@venutoa3 жыл бұрын
@@crufflerdoug Thanks Doug. I am considering one of these RV's for my next plane. maybe RV10....as its a bit heavier. But I am worried about DA in mountains...as I have flown piper carbureted engines over the mountains and its sucks. LOL Not to be able to get above the mountain waves and drafts. add in issues with landings and takeoffs ....does not make for good mountain flying.

Most RVs are known to be tandem. This RV9 is side by side. I don’t know much about them though.
@philipritson882111 ай бұрын
@@LarjoskiFlyingAwayOnly the R-4 and the RV-8 are tandem. The RV-3 is a single seater. The discontinued RV-6 was 2 seats side-by-side. The RV-7, RV-9 , RV-12 and RV-14 are 2 seats side-by-side. The RV-10 is a four place.

I landed in labelle when I was doing my transition training in my evolution. I sold my evolution to Ben Dover and then I downgraded when I left my girlfriend because I just wasn’t proud of her when we sat in a restaurant anymore. I needed something prettier. I replaced her and then bought a diamond da62 from sum ting Wong down in sebring because I needed the reliability to get down to South America to see my new girl. She doesn’t speak English but she is younger by 33 years than me and her dad owns a sweet Robinson 44 helli. Im not sure how I got here but this starlink internet is sweet even at 7000’ over New Mexico right now.
