@@GreenerGrass you and your beautiful wife are one of my favorites, because Greensboro holds a special place in my heart, and GSO is one of my favorite airports! Not only that, but I also love Amtrak. You are only about 70 miles away from my Alma Mater, Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Virginia, and I have tons of friends and classmates in the Greensboro Triad Area. You also have a very nice Amtrak Station as well. Since 1969, I've been through the Greensboro area many times. Some of my best friends live in the Greensboro area. I am from the Detroit, Michigan area, but my heart is in the South, especially in Chatham and at Hargrave. Up until 2008, when I got laid off for 2 years and 3 months during that recession, I used to return to Hargrave every 3 months to get my Hargrave Haircut from the School Barber, Curtis English. After he retired from the School in 1999, I would go directly to his where he still has a barbershop in his basement for The Faithful for only$5. At 89, he has not lost his touch! So, if you're paying more than $5 for your Haircut, I invite you to check him out! Your Hargrave style Haircut will last you well over 3 months, so you will get your money's worth!💈👮‍♂️He's only 5 minutes away from the School, so if you check out my Alma Mater first, and visit the Hargrave Historical Museum there, I'm sure that Frank Thomas, the Alumni Director will be happy to escort y'all to the Infamous Curtis English Basement Barbershop! In fact, 5 minutes later, you just might end up feeling like 17 year old Hargrave Cadet! Nobody cuts hair like Curtis English, and many are the Blessings of An Inspirational Curtis English Hargrave Haircut!💈👮‍♂️Just tell Frank Thomas and Curtis English that Tommy Tomoff'69 sent you! It'll be an experience that you'll never forget! As for me, I get back there whenever I can nowadays, but in the meantime, I stay in touch with Curtis by phone. I originally went to Hargrave because I wanted to be a 5 Star General like Douglas MacArthur, but God ended up having other plans for me. Instead, I ended up discovering what Ponce couldn't find, the Fountain of Youth! At 71, I still feel like a 17 year old Hargrave Cadet, thanks to Hargrave and Curtis English! So take care y'all, and May God Bless! And safe travels!

Why would you put the control of the plane into the left hand of the captain when most people are right handed and co pilots train to fly using their right hand. The control of the left hand is just not as good as the right hand for 90 percent of humans . And you did this so it would look cool and symmetrical. Ya no thanks...love the windows but I want all skill and reflexes in an emergency to be in the strong hand of the pilot. Actually I want two hands on the controls not one ...whoever came up with this stick idea was a fool. It may work in fighters with two hands on center but in passenger plane its stupid idea. And yes I know the stupid idea is in a lot of Boeing planes now but its still a stupid idea.

Great video, I've been fortunate enough to fly private. They reserve the higher altitudes for private planes, I'm glad you shared you were at 45,000 feet. One time I was flying private out of Anaheim heading to DFW. We took off into the Santa Anna winds, the first 9000 feet of climb out were the bumpiest I've ever felt on an airplane and I fly 150,000 miles a year. I was very lucky and flew the concord back in about 2004 (BA Heathrow to JFK) and we were over 50,000 feet that time.
@davidisaacson9543
@davidisaacson9543 Жыл бұрын
They don’t reserve the higher altitudes for private plane. Commercial jets are not able to fly that high due to performance and certification. Private jets can go as high as 51,000 but usually go no higher than 45,000. At the higher altitudes you can top thunderstorms and avoid headwinds

I used to fly between San Jose California and Corvallis Oregon about once a month for a few years because I was a consultant for two teams (one at each end). At first it seemed extravagant, but my client pointed out that I had a full productive day every time. If I had flown commercial, I had to fly the night before, rent a car and a hotel, all of which they had to pay for. It was actually cheaper to fly on the private jet they already leased. No extra consultant hour, no hotel or car, which can add up quickly. The thing I liked the most was no security checks. I could arrive 10 minutes before the flight. Get on the aircraft and go.

The company I used to work for had a president that used private jets. I got to go along a few times. My two observations: 1) you fly a lot higher, we were also at 45k., and 2) private jets are decked out - the wood in this Gulfstream was beautiful. And for business trips - it also allowed the a lot of one on one time to discuss issues. It was a real treat.

I've always heard the best part of flying charter/private wasn't necessarily the space or on-board amenities, though those are of course nice, but as you alluded to in the beginning....you show up and go. None of the hassles of the airport, possible delays etc. Just pull up, get out and go.

FWIW, it doesn't have to be unrealistically expensive to fly like this thanks to private air consolidators, fractional ownership, private air brokers, group/inventive air charters, "jet card" programs, and similar. If your schedule is flexible, you can take these flights for around the cost of normal first class (or occasionally less). I'd love to see some additional content on that topic if you have time.

I have had the pleasure of flying Private jet occasionally thanks to some very generous family members and it was very cool though not quite as big or fancy but still it was something I was very lucky to experience (the one thing I didn’t love was the take off)

I am putting together a biz plan involving a gulfstream g3 and Gulfstream/Grumman G7 Cougar to become part of the airports owners group but it's main use will be angel flights for military families and for Rotary international's MESA. Truly an honor to own and fly one of these espically when used to enrich others lives.
