One detail I loved to have noticed after rewatching his flight to the moon, is that, at every leap Hancock did to get further from her, before the flight, his landing progressively went from chaotic to heroic. His first landing breaking the ground. His second landing barely scratching it. And his third landing, finally reaching the superhero landing.

Handcock/Will has to keep his distance for all of this to work. Can you say invisible restraining order aka black “male”. ? Symbolized message: love you-to the moon ❤but can’t go back to Black. Hancock (2008) ‒ The story of a powerful transcendental love being flushed down the toilet The movie is a revolutionary masterpiece that pushed boundaries and challenged societal norms as it redefined the concept of love. When two people love each other, nothing is more important than her happiness. If you're a woman, you deserve _everything._ Not just: money, acceptance, understanding, love and happiness. You deserve more. You deserve to be worshiped like the goddess that you are. You have one responsibility in life, to know that you are a goddess. Don't think you are! Know you are! If you're a man, your happiness must be defined as "that which makes _her_ happy". The more you love a woman the more you should celebrate her happiness. And, you should be happy not despite the fact that she's happy without you, but _because_ she's happy without you. Because you know you don't deserve her. But more importantly, you know she deserves better. As a man, you should be extatic if you can contribute to a woman's happiness at all. Because, as we all know, a women don't need men. Women are strong and independent. This movie reminds me of old blackface movies. Remember those movies? Black face was used to caricature black people for comedic effect. It was how the entertainment business used to normalize and justify racism back in the day. This movie does a similar thing. Men are caricatured. Mary is a goddess. Or, maybe the movie is not a critique of traditional gender roles. Maybe it's about some BDSM stuff. Maybe the movie is a statement that Dominant people should not be together because their "power" shines best when they are in a relationship with a submissive person. Or, maybe it's a philosophical question. If you could choose one thing, what would you choose, power or love?
