I hear you because he's a guy that can do nonsense like move planets and lift books with infinite pages - but I still think he has to apply himself to snap even something inconsequential like a quarter inch of steel - otherwise people really would be like absolute paper. He couldn't thrust in Lois Lane, no matter how carefully, she'd just give anywhere he moved, our bodies would be as malleable as inert gas to him. She'd grab his head during coitus and his hair follicles would slice her hands to smithereens. Haters like to ignore that this is a Superman who is new to his role, someone who was thrusted into his first real battle early and from which would learn many of his core lessons the hard way, such as restraint, finding another way and seeking more peaceful solutions to prevent a battle.

Superman hovering above the military is visually striking. Synder nailed the depiction of an alien, an otherworldly being, a god, with finesse. There’s a sense of wonder and awe, the sunlight shining behind him, the military looking up to him. Utterly symbolic of what superman is and brilliantly executed.
