Let's see more info on flying the Ercoupe, like indicated airspeeds during different flight regimes, rate of climbs, altitude, rpm, fuel flows (if you have such into) such as flying along at 2,500 feet indicating 95 mph at 2,300 rpm on about 4 gph. Or on final at 75 mph or climbing out at 80 mph at 500 fpm. I am sure your airspeed indicator is in mph not knots. Anyway, enjoying your videos.

My dog went deaf after prolonged flight is our Aircoupe and Grumman Tiger. Dogs hearing is very sensitive. Even wearing "mutt Muffs: didn't prevent it.

I would get him a headset; they make them for dogs, and it will protect his hearing.

@@risingsun_ BTW, my brother, a retired AA captain and current Sim P with AA tried to send a link to Envoy to you. Envoy is hiring without an ATP so you might look into that.

I own #3226. I came up with a solution to the ever present issue of scratched side windows. Yours are minimal but will get worse. Let me know if you ever want to fix that.

@@risingsun_ tomorrow I’ll detail it. Best with drawings though. It is pretty easy and permanent. I thought I sent to Hartmut but maybe not. Stay tuned. Merry Christmas you fellow Coupers. We are a special family for sure.

@@risingsun_ ok, well as everyone knows the average pilot in 1946 weighed 165 lbs ( based on the POH). So, they were not as WIDE. The window when it is open, is down between the fuselage and the wall of the interior, and is fabricated of somewhat flimsy material. If one pushes on the side wall, you are pushing the fabric covered piece directly against the plastic window. ( especially if someone has replaced it with something thicker than original ). So in todays world often the pilot / passengers lower body is pushing against that wall. When you then raise or lower the window, it scrapes against the wall,of the interior material piece. So, If you remove the seat bottom and expose the seat pan underneath , you can use aluminum strips, use screws to attach one end of the strips to the seat pan, and then pull the Interior wall towards the inside and then using SHORT screws at the other end of the strips attach that end to the side wall…thus pulling it inward away from the plastic window itself. Then as you raise / lower the window it is is not rubbing against that wall being pushed out by your body. Mush easier to show in a drawing but I can post a drawing here. Mine works perfectly.

Howdy, Let me start by saying that I like your videos, and I love flying just like you. I am working on my instruments right now and I hope to get my CFI in the future, but I also want to build some time in between which brings me to not a comment but a question for you. I am interesting on buying an ercoupe, but I am not sure about the cost per year to maintain it and fly it. I know you just got your plane not too long ago, so if you do not mind sharing how much you normally spend per month, I will appreciate it. Thanks
@risingsun_
@risingsun_ Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I spend about 30-35 bucks an hour and that factors in gas/maintenance. Ramp cost is 50 bucks a month and insurance is 600 a year. Mine is actually for sale on barnstormers.

So how do you place the ercoupe in a crab landing without foot pedals?
@risingsun_
@risingsun_ 11 ай бұрын
You land crabbed and you touch the upwind main first. It was designed to self correct on the ground. I’ve personally landed in a 30kt direct crosswind with no issue
