Top notch data overlays, so good to see your movements together with vario readings and altitude. Awesome work dude. Keep it coming pls.

Beautiful Video and excellent commentary. Cloud flying is difficult. Here in Ireland In the south Mt Leinster I was sucked inside cloud for forty Minutes. I travelled thirty Kilometers before the sea breeze cleared the cloud. It was like being in a dark washing machine most of the way. My two euro compass ball saved me and kept me sane during the flight giving my brain something to focus on. Big ears and speed bar were of no use. Patience and not panicking were the best way to stay safe. Also to fly east away from the mountains. Cheers Frank. I landed at the door of a small church and kissed the ground. The most terrifying flight of my fifteen years of flying.

Thank you for sharing your story. Yeah, cloud flying should be avoided. It can lead to horrifying experiences as you describe.

what about spiralling? you sure must have thought of it during your 40 minutes of witheout?

Nice as always. It looks so easy in your video, almost effortless :-) With such a low cloud base, I'll stay right before the start and don't hope to fly any XC. Its a long journey before me to learn it that way.

A few years ago, I was also quite sure no real XC is possible on such days 😊

Great flying Dmitry and greetings from a Cold winter South Africa! I enjoy your videos and comment to convey you're strategy. I wish you could sometimes in those difficult or turbulent thermals, slow down the video so we can see your pilot input since i think you are very talented. All the best and keep posting those videos!!
@dymanoid6 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching! In this particular flight, there were no turbulent thermals, only weak stuff, so I didn't want to make the video too boring. If you're interested to see how I cope with turbulence, there's a video I made exactly about that, you can see my input and the wing behavior, have a look: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnfHfJKCiqydb7Msi=2hPY6SvH2uSD_0MW

А показатели (высота, скорость и тд) на экране откуда берутся, как их вставить в видео? Особенно линия маршрута интересна.

The flight data overlay in this video is created using a tool Telemetry Overlay. It analyzes the IGC flight recording and visualizes the data in a nice way. / Видео-оверлей с параметрами полёта в этом видео подготовлен в специальной программе Telemetry Overlay. Thanks for another great video! I am looking into buying a camera myself to document my flights - may I know what sort of camera you use to capture these footages? Thanks in advance!
@dymanoid6 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! I record my flights using an Insta360 X3 camera. I also sometimes use my old Insta360 X2 and the small DJI Action 2 for some footages.

Hello, how you could put all the information on top left corner ? Are they recorded by insta360 or did you record them with another app ?
@dymanoid6 ай бұрын
I use a special tool called Telemetry Overlay for visualizing the flight data. It processes the IGC flight flies.

@dymanoid6 ай бұрын
So, you can use such conditions to practice surviving low in weak thermals. A useful skill for every pilot! / Как раз такие условия можно использовать, чтобы потренировать выживание в низах и при слабых потоках. Очень полезный навык для любого пилота!

@@dymanoid super interesting to see how you float for such big distances and select thermals etc. I'm not doing Bassano like this :D How dependent is it of the wing performance and season? I'm flying a Low B in september.
@dymanoid6 ай бұрын
Well, a good glide is important for flying straight lines. On a Low-B wing, it will be difficult to achieve in weak conditions. The season makes no difference, it's the conditions that matter. But next time you're in Bassano, try to fly a long straight line without thermaling over every spine. You'll be surprised how well it works!
@PhilippeLarcher6 ай бұрын
@@dymanoid thank you! any tips to make a good line like this? use feelings, specific distance to the hill? aiming point?
@dymanoid6 ай бұрын
If I only exactly knew how to fly good lines, I would be the best pilot in the world 😊 But for now, I use two techniques: 1) trying to imagine where the air could rise better and 2) just randomly flying forward hoping that I hit a wide thermal at some point.
