From Spain, thank you very much for this great tutorial! I am a senior flyer and I have always been very disappointed at how little advanced pilots teach their experience of flying in as educational a way as you do. I am one of those who think that if the knowledge of flight is not transmitted, the pilots who are eager to receive it, sooner or later will get tired of suffering failures. That is why channels and videos like the one you just uploaded are of great help to us. It allows us to see and understand how and why certain decisions are made on a flight. Keep it up friend. Greetings.

Der erste 100er kommt bestimmt! Es ist wichtig, sicher zu fliegen. Daher - lieber langsamer und schrittweise die Komplexität der Flüge zu steigern als sofort volle Kanne zu pushen. Viel Erfolg und fly safe!

What an awesome video! Thanks for sharing. A lot of people tried the same route that day, but got stuck in the Molltall. So good job you made it so far.🎉

Thank you! I don't see a lot of flights on XContest ending in the Mölltal on that day. Was it maybe the next day? I didn't even fly on the next day into the Mölltal, because I was "too early" at Lienz - there was a massive cloud cover over the whole area which opened an hour later. Some pilots that took off later did fly into the Mölltal then.

XC-lent thank you! Most useful having the key areas such as the valley wind lee side and it turning round and hitting the slope on the final leg!

Your best video yet! And at the same time Sebastian Benz makes a comeback :)

Nice to hear, thank you! And yes - I also enjoyed Seb's video a lot. I was actually flying on that day in the same area (and even took off from the same launch), but my triangle was much smaller😅, only 200 km. Maybe in the distant future I will be able to fly those monster routes as well, but Seb is just an outstanding pilot.

Super Video und großartige Leistung! Bin an diesem Tag auch geflogen (HG), waren echt schwierige Bedingungen.

Danke! Ich fand die Bedingungen nicht besonders schwierig, nur der NW-Wind in der Höhe und die relativ tiefe Basis am Anfang waren etwas störend. Stimme aber zu, es war kein einfacher Tag.

Thank you very much for this great tutorial! I flew from Emberger Alm for the first time last Saturday, and I have to say I found it quite challenging with all the different valley winds coming from very different sides, the therefore unexpected sinky parts and the quite strong thermals. I only stayed in the Drautal, flying a 56km flat triangle, which was definitely enough for me :D Still, flying the whole Mölltal triangle is definitely on my bucket list! Good to know that it can be done with a relatively low cloudbase too! When I was flying there it was similarly low and I always thought how much easier it would be if i could fly at >2600m and follow all the ridges :D
@dymanoid4 ай бұрын
Agree - the low cloud base is quite a challenge for this area. However, a lower cloud base also means the distance between the thermals is smaller and also the air sinks less between the thermals, so it's not too bad. Fortunately, it often gets better in the Mölltal because you arrive there in the afternoon and the mountains are just higher.

What a great video. Thank you for sharing. What is the best time of the year, with the best hope reliable weather to fly there?
@dymanoid4 ай бұрын
@@paulomilko5422 There's no reliable weather in the Alps 😅 The best XC weather in Greifenburg is probably in April and May. June and July are a lottery game but it's generally harder to fly big flights. August tends to be more or less calm - some XC is possible but South Tyrol works better than Greifenburg in August.

Hi there. Upu have a spectacular video. Can i ask uou, how is Moltall for flying doring winter? As we ho for skiing in january to Moltall.
@dymanoid4 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! AFAIK there are no official takeoffs in Mölltal that you can reach by cable car in winter. So if you're OK with hike and fly through snow & ice, you can fly in winter indeed. Don't expect much XC though, it would probably just be short flights gliding down into the valley.
