Scott had fans in the stands, but when he won in December of '63 NASCAR handed the win to Buck Baker supposedly due to a "scoring error," only correcting the mistake hours later. Wendell Scott died in 1990 and to this day NASCAR has never made it right to his family. This is what I think of when I hear "Bubba" crying about the historic Confederate flag.

Some crew member mistakenly thought it was something other than a rope cord given the circumstances that they were in Alabama and that the confederate flag had just been banned by NASCAR. Bubba didn't hold true to it once the investigation wrapped up. He doesn't bring it up. Only these losers on the internet still do, going on 4 months later. He had a Black Lives Matter hashtag on his car for a couple weeks after Talladega then that was it.
