Hi Bobby, Just watched Oshkosh 2019 Sights and Sounds. Very nice video! I started flying with my father back in 1955 or so and got my Learners permit in about 1958 in Orange Mass. I do know you and Laura have broken up for some reason. Through the years I went after my license for gliders in southern Salem NH until it became unenforceable after I heard that my first daughter needed heart surgery. That ended my flying!

Since 2020 is canceled I was checking out last year's videos. Most of the repeat attendees that I know actually don't pay that much attention to the airshows and that's what most videos seem to concentrate on. This is the first one that I've seen that actually makes an effort to show what it's like to go. Thanks! If you do a 2021 version, drive in campground, theater in the woods, ultralights and just walking through the rows while narrating would make a nice follow on. Nice job!

The P-51 "Twin" is the F-82 Twin Mustang. They were used mainly as night fighters, carrying a radome (radar dome) between the fuselages.
@bidlymovies9875 жыл бұрын
Yep, An F-82 not a twin P-51. Supposedly none of the airframe parts are interchangeable with a P-51.
@kevinmoore48875 жыл бұрын
The design requirements were for a long range escort for B-29 raids on Japan. The distance required more fuel than a P-51 could carry and 2 pilots. It was used as a night fighter. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_F-82_Twin_Mustang

Correct me if I'm wrong, but; The week long pass is only paid for ONCE... The attendance #, on the other hand, is the # of people that pass through the admission gates... so, someone with a weekly pass could easily count as 15 or 30 of those gate hits. The attendance is not 601,000 unique individuals. It is 601,000 people passed through the admission gates.

Actually, 642,000 is the total number of daily ticket sales. I don't know how they count weekly passes, but I assume a week pass is equivalent to 7 daily passes. Assuming an average ticket cost of $30/day, that is about $20 million.

We stayed in the dorm at Oshkosh one year in the late 90's. Daytime temps every day were close to 100 degrees. Did I mention that the dorms had NO air conditioning? Oh it was hot, even at night. After that, we always found air conditioned quarters. The 2nd largest air show is Sun n Fun in Lakeland, Florida in early April of every year. Temperatures are much more mild for that event.

Catching up on flying doodles videos today. The end of this one is kind of sad knowing a few short months later Mark Sorenson lost his son while flying with his partner Mark Nowosielski. He was talking about Mark being off practicing for the world aerobatics competition. They would be lost in a GA accident in Georgia (Jan 26) the day before Kobie and his daughter were lost in the Helicopter accident in California from IMC spatial disorientation. January of this year was a rough month for aviation.

As a line tech I can tell you that I hate seeing a Honda jet land.. refueling them is a pain in the butt.. there is only one fuel port on the right aft side of the fuselage and you have to hold a button down on the panel the whole time you refuel so you can see the fuel poundage onboard if you slightly let your finger off the button you have to wait about 5 seconds for the panel to recalibrate and come back on..and if you go to fast you’ll be wearing jet fuel the rest of your shift..lol
