FlyJSim 727 Series Professional V3 | X-Plane 11 | Test Drive

I am loving this 727. I flew her for 7 years and before that, worked the flight engineer position for a year and a half. I’m in the left seat of the A320 now, but the ‘ol 727 is still my favorite! The flight model seems to need a little tweaking to me, as it doesn’t seem to bleed energy when clean like the real bird did. The new sounds are awesome, and really make me feel like I’m back home in my 727. Also, the external JT8D sounds are pure music! I am using the ACE 737 full control column, and Saitek throttles with FlightSimPM-UK 747-400 throttles, minus throttle #4 of course. I am also using Oculus rift VR and the immersion it provides is utterly amazing! Even though there are some issues with VR, like screen door effect, to me the difference is night and day between a monitor and VR. I will never go back, and VR is still in it’s 1st gen phase. It will only get better. I am still just getting my feet wet with V3 of the 727, but I really like the changes over V2 so far. FlyJSim has done a great job on my favorite airliner! I love that it has the old PSA livery. That was around the era when my father started working for them. That is also a very interesting airport. I like how you have to taxi up a hill before reaching the runway. Nice landing too!

Thank you for the review--the landing and associated sounds were great :-) I moved into a suburb north of Sydney airport in 1995. No one can forget the incredible 'sound' of the B727 on takeoff from YSSY back then... the 727s, even though hush-kitted, were so loud on departure you thought your ears would begin to bleed... Of course, we haven't heard anything like them for perhaps 20 years now.

That is some old school navigation you have to do in the 727. I sometimes remove the GPS from my GA bird just to fly using navaids, however, it appears that more and more traditional navaids (VORs, NDBs) are disappearing which is kind of a shame when attempting to recreate 'real' navigation. Anyhow - awesome vid!

Ah Shane, what have you done? I've just looked at this review and now I'm going to have to buy X-Plane 11 and this sim. Up to now I've been avoiding looking at 727 sims but when you showed it in DHL colours I knew I wanted it (I used to fly it around Europe on the DHL network in the early 2000's, lovely jet to hand fly). Kee on making the videos.

Great video. BTW if the V3 is like the V2, there should be 3 models. One (or two) of the versions do have interior cabins. I think it's the 727-200 Adv(ance).

Very very nice, beautifully re-created for Xplane 11. It looks like it might be a bit of a mare in VR with all those knobs and selectable switches to control. Sounds fantastic too. I would need to see how to use the Navigation system and auto pilot though before I purchased, but overall very very nice add-on.

It has the X-Plane 11 default FMC as an option, I mention it at the last part of the video. So if you don't want to fly by radio's you can fly with an FMC. Highly recommend this one.

This plane looks absolutely amazing! A few people have even called it the best airline ever made for xp11, topping the FF a320, 757 v2, and 732 v3. Looks like I'll be $60 poorer very soon ;)

Yes but i start the apu start the battery and so on but when everything is started i cant get the GENS to WoRK its sooo anoying and the apu is the one thats running all the time and i cant do a takeoff because i dont know how to get the gens to work!,! WRITE TO ME HOW TO GET THE GENERATORS TO WORK! pLEASE

Very nice video of my favorite airliner.... sure looks a lot like the earlier versions of Captain Sim’s 737... which I guess is a good thing. As I no longer use FSX or P3D I doubt I’ll be able to resist buying this one for very long. Thanks for this video even though it will prove to be an expensive watch I fear. ;)

Such a realistic simulation but they didn't get the EPR gauges correct. On the real bird, the mechanical digits should only show what has EPR been set (white bug) NOT what the current EPR actually is! Only the needle should point to current actual EPR on the engine.

FlyJ Sim 727 hasn't even updated the plane to add cargo door and cabin side doors to open and close. So this plane is not finished. They don't even paint the cargo on the hull of the aircraft. So sad for a payware plane. And yet a freeware plane Zibo 737-700, 800, 900 has cabin and cargo doors open and close.
