Pleasantly surprised by Schneider's mimics of Elvis, John Cleese, and Jay Leno. Didn't know he did voices so well!!

Serendipitously, I happen to listen to my two favorite podcasts out of about 20 so far. This one with Rob Schneider and Jimmy Fallon. And what makes them so good for me is that there is not much interview (tho' these guys are wonderful interviewers), and mainly, just 3 guys trading stories and joking together seamlessly, in a stream-of-consciousness way. But I learn about these guys from the stories and jokes they choose to share, the energy they share 'em with. Occasionally, a bit of bio stuff makes it's way into the convo, but it's really organic and in context and it's a LOT of fun to hang with these guys as a result.

The thing about Dana is that in sketches like Il Cantorie and Church Lady he would just get this almost sociopathic glare like just completely amoral where he’s just capable of anything and the funny thing is and also the scary thing is that there are really people like this. But when you take it to the edge like that and it’s so believable the energy from it is just incredible. Great comedy to me often has something almost disturbing about it and a believe ability. That’s what Dana had in spades. Of course Spade and Rob had that believe ability as well.

My office was all meisters back then. I was hillmeister. It was a running joke with us. Loved that skit. You all are the goats. SNL hasn't been the same since you all left.

Rob is great at dealing with Dana and David. He just keeps on talking through their constant interruptions. This is a master class on how to deal with bad hosts 😊
@leob4403 Жыл бұрын
Why do I get the feeling that David Spade is rushing through these sometimes? He always ends like "this is enough, we need to let them go" after barely an hour, even when they have guests that love talking and could go on for far longer. Whats the rush David?

I am honestly shocked at how great this interview was. I had no idea how eloquent, smart and insightful Rob was. I hope they have him back.

I'm so glad David and Dana just let him talk. I also wish they would go through castmemebers and talk about each one and do a brief history of the person before the interview.

I have a bit that I invented (pretty sure I invented it) that makes everyone laugh a lot. Every idea someone has, you say in a Scottish accent, "We will not be doing... (followed by the subject. For example in the car, you say when approaching every street, we will not be turning left here. Or in a restaurant looking at a menu; I will not be eating a steak. Etc. It always makes me laugh too.

Yeah come on guys use notes if you cant remember these topics. Its kinda frustrating when the host goes "well get to that later" and then they never do
@gregjustlovesyoutubeguidelines Жыл бұрын
Perhaps that was just a joke. Why would he even want to say that in front of the other one when he's friends with both? If he was serious, you can assume the answer was Rob. It would be pretty crappy to have a guest on your podcast and tell him that your co-host was harder to follow than him.
