I watched your video when you first used the sage LL fishing the sherry spinner. It's a beautiful video and I'm glad to see that you are enjoying the LL so much. I use the Scott G Series 7'7" 3 wt and have similar feelings. When I'm using that rod on small streams it makes me wonder why I ever do any other type of fishing. Cheers.

It's a beautiful way to catch fish, light rods and light lines, superb.

I've bought so many rods over the year, mainly impulse buying. About 10 years ago, i got rid of them all and built myself a Winston boron lll LS 9 5 weight. I've used this rod for everything. From throwing 22 dries to chucking 3 wets in a wave on the corrib. IMO, you can get away with a 9 5 weight for 95% of situations. You're got me thinking, though, it might be due and upgrade.

Almost any rod can be used for almost any purpose, with rara exceptions.

I've built up a bit of a collection myself, like most anglers! My most used rod is a 6ft 2wt that I use on some of the tributaries of the River Barrow. I'd love to see a video on reels. Many thanks, looking forward to more videos this year.

Good stuff George. I bought that same Cadence rod recently, had a PB Grayling on its maiden voyage, and had another PB since, can't wait to fish the wets with it come the 15th March though, tight lines for 2024 sir.

Do you ever fish with bamboo rods. I've starting fishing some Goodwin Granger rods I'v refurbished and love them. Probably won't go back to graphite. Love the way they cast especially dry flies.

Call to any tackle shop and ask for a five weight kit, it will cover most circumstances.

There are only a handful of people breeding proper working res setters, I suggest you attend a trial and talk to the red setter owners that attend.
