A lot of people like multi-piece fly rods for convenient travel. The rod box on my boat can hold my 7 1/2 foot casting and spinning rods. I've built rods for decades, mostly casting and some spinning rods. It's time for a new fly rod, but won't go beyond 2 piece.

Thanks for posting, seems not quite hard and very fun, wonder why so few people attempted it. I plan to build mine with bamboo, this could be handy.
