I've done just that started!!! I'm about to retire in three years, did my own lights on my Audi, posted in a local club FB and got a buddy that I'm now doing his S5 lights. Very cool!

That’s awesome dude! It’s always cool when you get to see the work of your hands on your own car, and really impress yourself. Killer way to start!

Good information. Very first car I ever modified was my '90 300ZX. Bought some CCFL halos from Oracle and they were WAYYYYY too expensive considering what I know now haha.

Hey man, do you know where I should look to try and purchase blank tail/headlights? For example I want the toyota 86 headlights and completely build my own, and make it mass producible. I can potentially purchase VLAND aftermarket headlights for $400 usd and rip them apart... but I would have to sell the products for much more. Would you know if OEM or aftermarkets sell JUST the housing components, leaving me to fabricate the lights?

Great advice! I make plug-n-play modules that work with eBay / Amazon aftermarket headlights that give them full functionality as high end stock headlights do. Unfortunately I have been making ever excuse in the book on why I'm not ready to make it a business. I really appreciate this video, Thank you! P.S. when are you going to sell the exact Tee in this video on teespring? I would have bought several already

1. "Start now" is good, but I'd recommend knowing what you're talking about before charging a customer and effing up their vehicle.

Imdb Truth That kind of thinking is exactly the fear that keeps people from Ever starting. That’s just another BS excuse to not try.

@@flyryde No... That's from somebody who has seen what happens when you pay somebody who you think is a professional installer, only to have your car catch on fire. Customers shouldn't have to pay the going rate for somebody to learn on the job and experiment on their car. You don't have to know everything there is to know about a particular field to start a business in said field, there's always more to learn, especially in a field such as LED lighting... But if you're charging somebody to put some fancy lights on their $80K vehicle, then you better know how to perform the task for which you're being paid. Start with friends and family by giving them a discounted rate for you to get out some of those growing pains if need be... But you shouldn't be charging the same price as the installer down the street if you can't deliver the same professional results. I get what you're saying about just having the balls to start trying being half the battle, but mobile electronics is not something where you should be charging people if you don't know you're shit in regards to what they're paying you to do...

I understand you had a bad experience my man. The reality is, everyone says fake it till you make it, and they’re WRONG. Nobody should fake anything, or lie, or cheat, or steal. Failing is one thing, but intentionally lying cheating or stealing is what burned you it sounds like. The most important thing I can impress on anyone here, is to just be yourself, be real about it, and talk about where you’re at on your journey. Hopefully that won’t mean screwing up someone’s car... but it might. That’s an expensive learning lesson, but a damn good teacher. For sure the proper path is to start small, and slowly but surely work your way up. I’ve seen fully professional guys botch HUGE jobs. What did you have done, and what went wrong? That might give better context for the would be builder that read your first post and tucked back inside his shell.

Permaseal yeah! My first build was Permaseal, on my own lights, watch a bunch of your videos and read everything I could find on Permseal, took my time and got them open! Only 50 stitches to stop the bleeding LOL!

Right? The funny thing is, I think people take that as a joke, yet I’ve experienced and seen soooooooo much blood with permaseal from other builders. It’s literally a job that’s not supposed to be possible.

@flyryde

Ben Green The number 1 Worst Way is to try to get a hold of me at all the week that I’m moving, lol 🤣🤦‍♂️ I’ve been a complete mess this whole week. Other than that sometimes Instagram works, in other times email is better. Nine times out of 10 I’m not able to take on the project somebody wants me to do, and every inquiry is a black hole for time. Persistence typically wins the day 🙏
