There is something I hate about other channels, they are like: "I got the new DJI Mini 2, it is small but that's all I will tell you for now, a more extensive review will be shared in the future." And that way they turn the first video into clickbait and keep you waiting for the second video in order to get full information about the gear being reviewed (the drone in this case.) That is exactly where you excelled, you provided all the information straight forward and to the point, didn't rush a bit and included footage for pretty much everything you were explaining. I was on the fence before but The noise reduction sold it for me. The original mini is not that loud but its pitch and noise profile made it sound really annoying and louder than it actually is. I also appreciate the USB type C and backwards battery compatibility.

The DJI Mini 2 is very durable. Another KZbin vlogger can attest to that - Volvo Camper Life. I prefer the Screws and the Mini 2 has anti-rust screw. It really helps when crashing on water. I live in New England the wind here is around 20 mph during sunny days and my Mini 2 can handle the wind gust. Thanks for the vlog.

DJI tricked me i was looking for a pro 3 never saw a mini 2 coming.... super glad they changed the remote control... wish with the now wind resistant they would have added active tracking... does the mavic mini and mini 2 use the same battery

The con & negative with the Mini 2 is the controller isn't a comfortable size that you can just slip in your pocket. The Mini 1 controller is much more easier to travel with if you dont have a car.

DJI could easily add a "Follow me" feature if they wanted to. Other apps have it for the Mavic mini. it's good that you can use the mini 1 battery and updating to USB-C was a good move. I'm happy with the Mini 1 especially as I got it for free.....

For the quick transfer.. after you transfer your videos or photos to your phone, you can fly it with that option on, or its necessary to turn that option off before you start to fly the drone again?

I also have the mini 1, but I don't see that huge difference, because if you got the mini so u don't use it so much for high production projects etc, maybe just for KZbin and IG etc. But I would go for Mavic Air 2 or a similar one, that would been a real upgrade, cause don't forget the sensor makes a difference in the footage as well. The Mavic mini has a really small camera sensor and I really like how compact it's with the Mavic mini 1.

Thanks great report. I have the Mini now as well as the Air 2 so no need to upgrade. Question, can the Mavic Air 2 controller work on the Mavic Mini 2 as well? Point of interest, if you plan on buying either the Mini or Mini 2 because you don’t have to register at 249g don’t make too big of a deal out of that. To register 250g and up up takes 5 min and $5.00. Other than that, every rule for 250g and up apply to 249g and under. Both Drones are great but if I had to choose one over the other, the Mavic Air 2 wins, no contest. Thanks.

Hi! I've just crasched my DJI Mini 2 into a tree and everything works but not the "RTH-mode". If I lose the signal it takes long time for the drone to come home and I have to press the "RTH-button", it never come home by it self automatically as before... What can I do? Great video, as usual, thanks ! This looks like a nice upgrade but I see a few problems : - the RC is HUGE, it sort of defeats the purpose of having a tiny drone. If WiFi control was possible like with the Mavic 1/Air/Spark it would be more acceptable. You can't just toss the MM2 in your back pocket and take it on a bike ride, big fail there. - Whatever happened to the great Gesture Control of the Air ? If it was here it would also mitigate the massive RC problem - Basic Active Track should be included, regardless of whether there are sensors or not. The Fimi X8 has AT without sensors, user responsibility I don't need 4K and mostly take pictures so I still can't really see a good reason to upgrade my Spark that does all of the above. I got a cheap Fimi X8 for "fun flying" with more range and battery life. If anything, the Mavic Air 1 still seems to be THE best consumer drone that DJI has ever come up with, light, smartphone controllable, great gesture control, smooth 3 axys gimbal, sensors, AT. Sure the battery life isn't great but a couple of extra batteries will take care of this. And yes the range is "limited", but it's more than anyone legally needs so...I might pick one up at some point ;-)

I just don't understand. I've watched dozens of reviews for this drone. I've watched two of your videos about this drone. None of them address the issue I'm very concerned about. What kind of connector does the controller have for the phone? Is it an Apple fire, a mini-USB or a type-C USB? Wouldn't you think that was pretty important to mention? It's the one reason I'm watching all these videos but haven't purchased yet. My phone (Galaxy Note 10+) has a type-C connector.

@ 11:55 hello, i own the iphone 11 pro max with a thin protective case. I'd love to be able to use my phone in the controller with a fold-out shade hood so i can see the screen better on sunny days. I have the mini 2 and the controller's cradle seems to line up exactly where the volume buttons and power button is; no matter which way i turn it around. I've seen in other videos you have (i think the same size/model phone) positioned far over to the side. I do that, too, but doesn't work with shade hood because it needs to line up straight and symmetrical. What i'm wondering is if you have any tips or tricks to this problem? Often times i'm resting it where the volume button is constantly getting pressed.

It's up to you to use common sense and set the return to home flight level high enough to get over any obstacles. Had my Mini since May and not crashed once.

Flew my Mini 2 for the first time yesterday, and the wind was blowing probably 15 knots, cannot believe the stability it exhibited. So easy to fly! For a gamer like myself the controls mimic standard console controls very closely so it was a very easy transition. Now just need to tighten my flying and filming skills.
