I May Have Gone Overboard... | O-320 Reassembly

THIS THING IS ON FIRE! Not really... but after powder coating the parts and installing them, this engine is looking cleaner than EVER! I honestly I wanted to go further, completely striping the paint on the cylinders and starting from scratch, but they were in good condition and I didn't want to do that unless I was overhauling them. Regardless, the parts look great, the engine is back together, and now we can get all the other fancy bits from AvStar, Champion, and Maggie Ignition Systems on there!

Think I'd have tried to torque the cylinders down before installing the push-rods...esp with your new paint job!

I did. We got one set kinda on so my mechanic could show me what to do, then the next morning I took that off, torqued everything down, and installed it all properly.

Curious why you didn't clean the carbon off the pistons. Did you put new piston rings on? If not, why not? Just mostly curious.

Hi. I’m trying to sell an o-320 b2b. It’s been sitting in a nice air hanger for 20 years. 20yrs ago it was overhauled, cylinders honed with new pistons and rings. I’m trying to get an idea of what one of these engines would sell for. Looking to sell on eBay unless you suggest a safer place to sell. Any info appreciated!
