We've heard it both ways. Through the Inosanto system we've seen in spelled with an "A" and within the Illongo language in the Philippines. The national language in the Philippines (Tagalog) spells it with the "U." There seems to be a lot confusion surrounding within the West. A lot of misunderstanding, but it all depends on the area of the Philippines of how they annunciate and use the word.
