BREAKDOWN EP: 11: The karambit (or kerambit) is a popular bladed within Southeast Asia. It was designed to rip and cut like the the tiger's claws and teeth. A very dangerous weapon in the hands of a skilled practitioner.

Wow! A karambit video that actually showed practical techniques. I hate all the flipping BS. That just tells me you were never in a real knife fight. Nobody would waste their time doing that. And...you can hold the karambit in a saber grip. To me that makes it more like a claw. Sick of the flashy BS. Thank you for a good video.

Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciate it. We try to separate the art from the practicality. Movies and catchy gimmicks showing the fancy twirls is used to draw people in. So many untrained people wanting to look cool. I've seen a few cut themselves because they were twirling it around and whoops, they get clawed.

Thank you, we're not trying to be "Hollywood" with our information, except our documentaries (LOL!). We can and do all the cool flips with Karambit, but like what Guro Inosanto says, "what looks good on camera isn't really practical in real life, and what's practical in reality doesn't look good on camera."

Thanks a lot. Been getting push back, about legalities of this. True, but it's good to train in all variations: weapon vs weapon, empty hand vs weapon.

Awesome breakdown and keeping it simple fellas. The karambit is one of the most damaging/dangerous blades. If the person doesn’t know what they’re doing, it can injure the user too. Saw that girl online flipping a karambit in the forest while trying to look cute, and she ends up cutting herself 🤦🏽‍♂️
@FMAPulse

Thanks for your support, yeah we saw that video. People try and copy what they see in movies and other KZbin videos. That's results in injuries. That's why we always put a disclaimer on all of our videos.

It is my observation that there are no Federal Laws prohibiting double edge Karambits or any other double edge knife in the United States. I'm not a lawyer and can't give legal advice. I'm interested in seeing the legislation/law that you are referring to though. Thanks for the video by the way. I still enjoyed it.

Great demonstration of some karambit basics. The flipping show (like with a Balisong) might make an attacker reconsider, but if it’s already on… I’m in the don’t see but feel the blade camp

Naw you can flip your karambit as a striking weapon. It's very disorienting and very very painful. Quite capable of stunning someone.
@FMAPulse
@FMAPulse 5 ай бұрын
You also run the risk of the karambit flying out of your hand if you don't have control. Too many times have I heard trainer karambit hit the ground because people were twirling it too much and it flies off of their finger.
