respect? Yeah for 3 hours a week starting at midnight on saturdays. Then grunge came and then the metal was reduced to like 1.5hr because the same grunge videos played ALL DAY on MTV took up half the ball. For a minute they did the enter the pit which was all death metal stuff for a half hour after the ball. But it was always the bastard stepchild make no mistake

+Aarya Gaikwad Yeah, but I'm old. It was their best album, IMO. It has more political and social subject matter than any that came before. The whole devil thing is silly to me. And the song the album is named for is my all-time favorite by them. I lost interest in them soon after this point. As with most bands that last this long, it got too repetitive for me.

I remember watching this on MTV. It was great to hear them in a normal setting. You never got that back then unless you went to a signing. It was before the internet and they didn't interview often. That Slayer tour was amazing, as they all have been. Riki Rachtman was a douchebag and probably still is. He got booed off stage at the Headbangers Ball concert.

The best show I ever went to was the "Clash of the Titans" ...Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeath, and a little known band named Alice in Chains opened the show. Epic and I still have the shirt... grayed and full of holes.

I’ve seen some monster pits in my day. I remember going to see Slayer open for Judas Priest back in the day. It was a swirling mass of 3 huge tornadoes of human bodies. I had to get in it. Seen some awesome pits in my day. I remember a Pantera gig where there was exposed pipes and plumbing hanging from the ceiling. Everyone would “monkey bar” across the ceiling and drop into the pit. Brutal stuff. I am 53 now and no longer pit-worthy. Now my old ass just sits in the stands and tries to at least headbang 😂

Andy Wallace is an incredible sound engineer...Reign/South/Seasons are probably the most sonically perfect thrash albums released during the genre's '80s/early '90s heyday. It's really sad that these bands sounded BETTER 20-30 years ago with LESS advanced technology. What the fuck happened? Albums like Death Magnetic and World Painted Blood, while solid musically, sound thin and compressed, and the drums sound like cardboard boxes.

He owned the Cathouse which Gun's N Roses, and many other bands played before they got big. He wasn't manufactured. Many people didn't like him, but he was legit.
