The Movie was obviously very loosely based on P.T Barnum's true character and experiences, but who cares , right ? It was a movie with great songs and choreography that promoted acceptance and Love and reminds us what's most important above success and fame - family. Beautiful movie. who cares if it was mostly fictional ?
@spaghettimind32566 жыл бұрын
who cares if it's not true is right... idk why you have sarcasm here. It's a movie, not a historical recreation of his life.

@jasonparkers1976 movies are not meant to educate children,that is up to their parents and teachers. On another note most children do not assume that a movie is true, they would just assume that it is another fictional movie. If a child is interested in P.t Barnum and ask if he is real, parents can then educate them OR, more than likely any child who would see this and realize P.T Barnum is a real person, is old enough to look him up themselves. this is not the first movie that is inspired by true events, myths, legends or anything else that are extremely off base historically. The movies are not meant to teach us, they are meant to entertain and maybe spark an interest for them to look up the history behind it themselves.

That time racism was the norm. Barnum did something different though he gave the infirm the opportunity to be more than what their lives would have been. It may not be much but it was progress. I wonder how his employees at the circus actually felt about working there.

Others say he saved them from starving on the streets. Either way....the reality is way darker than the movie.

I knew this story was fake instead of fact but it's still a good movie. I feel like if it wasn't about Barnum and it was a movie just about what it is instead of him and they changed the names then it would still be really good.

Happy to say he was not homeless. Barnum had a family in Bethel, CT that he recalls with great fondness. His dad does pass away when he's 15 and he did work to help support the family. Interestingly, he is the 7th of 12 siblings and half siblings!

PT Barnum was a great show man, and you are correct about the museum. The museum burned down before his scheduled July 15th 1865 show. A lot of his displays were exaggerated especially his Fiji Mermaid..now for some seriously real scary truth. You can research this, there is a poster advertising the event, and an actual PHOTOGRAPH of a REAL MERMAID, that PT Barnum was going to unveil. I find this fire very suspicious indeed. Someone went through a lot of trouble to hide this creature's existence. This mermaid creature was no fake. Please research, it will blow your mind. 🤔
@kateworkman9215 жыл бұрын
Considering that in the early 1900s, two girls were able to fake a photo if "real fairies" that had some adults convinced of their existence, I find it incredibly hard to believe Barnum couldn't have faked a "mermaid" pic.

The movie was great and it made me cry let aside the hardships im going through .. but as life is.. there is always the ugly truth and the pretty fantasy.. the movie was exactly that.. it shows how even a so called freak can be encouraged and love itself the way it is while the ugly hidden truth was it was broken and abused.. thats the reality even before and until now.. the difference is now. Those who were the different are now making the difference and showing people how important self love is.. Dont hate.. i cant handle.. sorry for bad english😅😅
