RS-32 11:20 ? Love that sound. Grumbly,growling,ground shaking Alco/MLW forever. Favorites.

+Low Budget Scale Modeling. No, it's an RS11, but they were very similar. And the sound was twice as good in person!

I'd love to know if those mines are still in operation and likewise the Alcos; they were old 30 years ago and all look like they've been rode hard and put away wet. Never been to the Minnesota mines but visited the Cleveland Cliffs mines near Marquette, MI several time and watched the loading of the oar boats. I concur, great video and a piece of history we are rapidly loosing. Does anyone know if the finished output from the mine was t taconite?

The mine closed in 2001, the Alcos were sold off.

Cool! I like the guy wiping off the windows off on 4205 around 14:45 or so. Is it just me, or have I seen C420s numbered in both the 7220 area, and between the GP38s and F9Bs, around 4218 (the latter in other videos)? Also, do you know what's up with those little two-light signals that can be seen occasionally? They look like switch indicators, unless they had some control system within the mine complex. Given the traffic, I wouldn't blame them

Wished I was there!!! awesome, keeps on going full noise all the time. These must have been the hardest working ALCO's in the country, topped of with some F units.

I got pictures today (11/30/2019) of 7201 (6:15) and 7202 which sit about 30 mins from my house in south jersey. Really awesome history, lucky that it was close enough for me to go get pictures of. imgur.com/a/DyIqtTp
