⚠️ Adesuwa, please find a way to bring Gen. Yakubu Gowon on your show while the man still breathes! He has so much story to document for posterity, starting from the Jan 66 coup, the counter coup, Ironsi's fate, civil war years, post war, change of schedule for handover to civil rule, Murtala coup, his implication in the Dimka coup, life in exile, life back in Nigeria, interactions with Ojukwu post war and whatever else you wish to add 😉

@1anre it would be a great disservice to the nation and more importantly, to themselves if they still lack the courage to be candid at the twilight of their lives! One assumes that Generals are courageous and fearless! Let's see how it goes!

@adstix reverse psychology bully won't work on these type of men. People in their close corridors have heard the stories of how things really unraveled and can tell us as it is, but we will hardly believe them cause it's not directly from the horses mouth. My hope is that when they see clips like this from OBJ and the other OGs, it should ginger them to open their hearts up and share
@adstix

@1anre if you never narrate your story, others will do so for you. And it is never guaranteed that third-party narrators will be 100% factual. Gowon, Danjuma, IBB, etc. can either tell us while they still can or their families have to live with secondhand versions for eternity!

I think we have to deliberately avoid the use of the word "illiterate" for our parents, it will be more appropriate to use the expression not having "western/formal education" rather than "illiterate". Our parents that didn't attend the western form of school are more intelligent than our so-called graduates, PhD holders and professors of today.

We really cannot do that because it is not yet crystalized that we have our own civilization, hence we will continue to call our fathers illiterate, when they had their own educational structure, what they teach for values.

I agree with fact that ex president Olusegun Obasanjo is the greatest leader of Nigeria new democratic dispensation, but I am of the opinion that third term attempt is one factor that is undermining his huge respect he should have been commanding in the country. Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo patriotism and contributions to Nigeria 🇳🇬 is unquestionable.

On how Adesuwa introduce OBJ: i don't know if that's the model she adopts for her program for whoever no matter the status that's ok. However bringing Icon like Gen. Obasanjo two time Nigeria president to the stage i think he needs proper introduction by you to arouse the interests of your viewers especially if you are expecting viewes across the Globe who definitely will need background information.

Adesuwa you are meant to introduce him to your audience not asking people like Obasanjo to introduce himself. I feel its kind of disrespecful to ask Obasanjo to introduce himself. Especially for someone of his calibre who is well-known both in Nigeria and internationally.

Adesuwa, I believe the appropriate thing would have been for you to introduce this statesman appropriately. If you know history at all OBJ's name is littered all the history of Nigeria. From handing over to a civilian government (shehu shagari), to his role in quelling the civil war, to standing up to abacha and being jailed for it, and becoming the first civilian president of our latest republic. Common now introduce this man well next time
